Your're right floedebolle, the head could be a little bit to small for the body. But I don't know if I want to change the head because the miniature is nearly finished. (But I have to stare all the time at his head)

I start painting three other hired swords, the Kislev Ranger, the Elfe Mage and the Beasthunter.






As you can see the freelancer wears the coulers of Solland with a black bandage.

The W.I.P. pieces are off to a FINE start...good looking flesh tones. GREAT STUFF!    
With the Freelancer, I think it's the heavy shoulder armor that makes his head appear too small...ever notice that Space Marines all have a pin head look to them.   

I wish you a happy new year. The last few weeks of the old year, I was on vacation and visited the parents in-laws. The quiet time I used to tinker a witch hunter.

Wow smile, super clean and perfect gs job, like the pose too, was a good to decision to change the left arm, now it brings more action into the mini!

Time for a big update. The hunter is now nearly finished and only the hat is missing.
Now he owns a gun another belt with a small pouch and a peg.
I realy like this victoian beard.

He´s just great, to me he seems done, would´nt give him a hat, ´cause it will detract of his fantastic moustache, but hej, thats just my humble impression.

Again, great job, and get some paint on him soon, damn it!

Oh, now that could be it: I tryed to imagine him wearing a hat like the one you sketched up, but that would really take all eyes on the hat only, so, here´s my idea, why not give him a more secretish-conspirecy look by adding a cowl, you know, one in the jedi style.

At last the witch hunter is finished. But as you can see on the group shot he is a little bit smaller than the other witch hunters. For the moment I will use hin in the war band. But when I get the original witch hunter with the tow handed sword I will replace him.
Because it was so much fun to convert him I will do some more hunters and build an other witch hunter war band.

SPLENDID! The hat really makes The Man. He & his cohorts are WONDERFULLY improved by your EXCELLENT sculpting. VERY WELL DONE!    


One small point: I think drilling out the pistol barrel would improve the appearance of the Witch Hunter appreciably.   

Hey guys, just a little update on the painting table. I started painting the elven mage and I really hate him. He just looks awful right now.

And DeafNala, I will do as you said and drill the barrel open.

It seems every mini I've ever painted goes through an ugly phase, which, fortunately, is only a temporary condition. The Elf does have good looking hair & the linen (white) tunic is a nice warm color. Keep up the GOOD WORK; the Lad has potential!   

On the pistol barrel: I usually use a #60 or #62 drill, depending on the diameter of the barrel. Before drilling I make a center punch with a push pin...it help to keep the drill bit fro wandering.   

Finally the elf mage is finished and I have to say I hate him. It wasn't really fun to paint him. But now I can start with the beast hunter.

I can identify; there have been a fair number of minis I've painted up &, though some turned out quite nicely, I've absolutely hated painting...commissioned Space Nazis (Marines) come to mind. At any rate the Pointy Eared One is done & looking quite nice at that. The brushwork looks SPLENDID as do the subdued colors. VERY WELL DONE!   

Hey Guys, it's time for an update. I began to paint the beast hunter and it's really fun to paint him. What is left to paint: the wooden parts, the bones, his beard and the metall parts.

The Hunter looks TERRIFIC...the skin tones in particular & the brushwork in general are OUTSTANDING. GREAT WORK!

The Hunter finished up in a SPECTACULAR manner...he looks the part WONDERFULLY. VERY WELL DONE!   

Found this week some time and the pleasure to work on the Minis again. (maybe it's because my wife is working on a cosplay for the Hobbitcon next year) I still have to paint the coat, the boots, the saber, the breast decoration (the tooth between her boobs)  and the base.

It's good to see you're still at it. She coming along WONDERFULLY. I love the wild eyed look...very in character. Keep up the GREAT WORK!
