Hey all!

Hey all!

Latest project is a 2000 point Orcs & Goblins army, so far I've only finished my Black Orc Warboss, but I have all my other minis lined up, ready to be painted though! Very Happy

First off is my Black Orc Warboss Turok Ironface! The main components of him is from the Orc Warboss plastic kid and then I've added a few other bits and a bit of greenstuff... Enjoy!

Orcs & Goblins Back10

THE STORY OF TUROK IRONFACE:

Turok originated somewhere in the Dark Lands where he was a slave for the Chaos Dwarfs, fighting in the pits of Zharr Naggrund as a gladiator for several years. All of this came to an end when he faced three Chaos Giants at once and lost. He was punched, stomped and beaten to a pulp, breaking all of the bones in his body and horribly disfiguring his face. The Chaos Dwarfs threw Turok into the sewers, thinking he was more dead then alive. Here he laid in the in the same place for months, feeding off the maggots, worms, vermin and everything else he could lure close enough to his broken body. Slowly he started to recover, crawling, walking, running. His hatred for the Chaos Dwarfs grew with his strength and soon he was strong enough to leave the sewers which had been his home for months.
He ventured out on the plains of the Dark Lands, searching for Chaos Dwarfs (and everything else) to take out his build up anger upon. He soon became the Warboss of a Black Orc Boar Rider clan named "the 'Orrible Ridaz". He spend the next few years ambushing Chaos Dwarf settlements, old world travellers and everyone else he could get his hands on, carving out a reputation for himself in blood and gore. The survivors of his carnage soon started to refer to him as "Ironface" because he never took off the gladiator helmet that covered his disfigured face.
One day, as he was torturing the inhabitants of a Chaos Dwarfs settlement in the Howling Wastes, he found himself sorrounded by thousands of Chaos Dwarfs who had followed him for months, trying to put an end to the menace. They had finally lured him into a canyon by sacrificing the Chaos Dwarfs civilians of the settlement. The battle was fierce and for every dead Black Orc, six Chaos Dwarfs laid dead and Turok himself murdered over a hundred. The Chaos Dwarfs outnumbered the Black Orcs by one to ten. The Black Orc menace was ended and Turok was badly wounded and once again left for dead by the Chaos Dwarfs. He laid in that battlefield for weeks, fighting off scavengers and vultures, recovering by eating his fallen comrades.
Turok now decided to go west, where he had heard of lands inhabitated by thousands of week humans and dwarfs to plunder and after months of travelling through the Dark Lands and fighting countless of horrors he finally arrived at the Worlds Edge Mountains. Here he soon joined the Broken Tooth Tribe who was currently in a campaign against the Dwarfs who lived in those mountains. The current Warboss of the Broken Tooth Tribe was named Orboz Oneeye and he was a moron. His lack of intelligence was only matched by his missing skills of planning the battles. Orboz was extremly lucky though and had so far awaded all atempts on his life.
Turok soon got annoyed by the fact that Orboz Oneeye hadn't been able to get the orcs close enoguh to the dwarfs to actually fight them and decided it was time for a power change. He defeated Orboz in a fist fight, beating him unconscious. He then amputated the arms and legs of the former warboss, named him his new lucky pet, and started taking him with him to battle in a large backpack. Ofcourse he soon forgot to feed him, and Orboz died. Turok still believed that Orboz was lucky, dead or alive, and kept the rotting carcass in the backpack.
Now with Turok in charge the Broken Tooth tribe made short progress of the dwarfs in the territory and for months the tribe fed on squeeling dwarfs. Everyone in the tribe was happy, except Turok who started to grow bored and led his boredom out on the goblins in the tribe, which meant that in a matter of weeks there was no more goblins in the tribe to do the dirty work and infighting became a serious problem. Turok decided it was time for a change, gathered the most brutal of the orcs (mainly Black Orcs and Big 'Uns) and moved west once again.
He soon found himself in the Badlands which was literally crowded with all kinds of greenskins. He defeated a few tribes, enrolled the survivors and named himself, Turok Ironface, Warboss of the newly founded Ironface Tribe. No one in the tribe objected to this...

Hope you enjoyed the little background story and forgive my poor english! I often find it much more interesting playing an army that has some history... Make it easier to be swept away in to the depts of my imagination Wink

VERY COOL & NICELY PAINTED mini...the extra paraphernalia gives him the feel of a wanderer. VERY WELL DONE! thumbsup
With Fantasy minis, an interesting/entertaining background makes the mini. It's one of those things that make Fantasy more alluring for moi than History. EXCELLENT fluff for Turok! clown

Just finished my next character of my army, Barkoz Facestompa! He is a Big Boss and carries the battle standard! The mini is pretty standard with components from the Warboss plastic kit. I added an axe to his belt though (was surprised that there was no extra weaponry in the box for the standard bearer... An orc without a choppa???).

ANYWAY, here he is:

Orcs & Goblins Banner10

Orcs & Goblins Banner11

THE STORY OF BARKOZ FACESTOMPA:

Barkoz was born into the Broken Tooth tribe. Already at birth he stood out as the biggest of the litter of five. Already within a couple of weeks of beeing born he had murdered his four siblings by rolling on top of them and smuthering them. This ofcourse only amplified his parents affection for him. As he grew up his reputation as an especially sadistic bully grew with him. Even by orc standards. He would always single out the smallest of the goblins, spitting on him, beating and torturing him, before ending his life by repeatingly stomping the poor goblins head into a pulp. These acts always attracted a crowd of laughing orcs and other goblins (who were just happy it wasn't them this time) and Barkoz thrived on the attention and the admiring glares.
Barkoz rose quickly within the Broken Tooth tribe and soon had the title of Big Boss and acted as an enforcer for the Warboss Orboz Oneeye. His job was to keep everyone in line and once in a while statue an example by stomping someone to death. This earned him the name Facestompa.
Just as evil and sadistic Barkoz was within the safety of his camp, just as big a coward he was when it came to batlle. He would always skulk around behind the lines of goblins, yelling and threatening them forwards against the enemies, never facing an enemy himself. After the battle Barkoz would always be the first and loudest to brag about his own skills and countless enemy kills. If anyone of his fellow greenskins dared to speak against him, he would make short progress of silencing them by jumping up and down on their heads while yelling "whu else wunna call me a lier?".... No one else ever did!
When Turok Ironface was entered into the tribe, Barkoz instantly recognized him as just as evil spirited as himself, but just a lot stronger, and so started to suck up to him and eventually became Turok's pawn in his ambition to rise to power. Barkoz even spiked Orboz Oneye's food before the fist fight that brought Turok Ironface to power within the tribe.
When Turok Ironface decided to leave the Broken Tooth tribe behind, only taking the strongest and most vicious fighters with him, naturally Barkoz Facestompa went with him as his enforcer, stomping the occasional goblin and sucking up to the Warboss...

Hope you guys enjoyed the pictures and this little chapter in the story of the Ironface tribe Orcs & Goblins 387809

I really like the paint jobs on both characters. Very orcy.

It is also a pleasure to read the characters' stories, thanks.

Thanks for the feedback! Always nice when atleast a few responds to the things your proud of Wink

Next in line is my orc shaman Wazka Da Nutz! The model is a bit of a mix from many different boxes (one of the pleasures of having an extensive bits box) like the orc warboss set, orc boyz set, Golgfag Maneater box and from the ogre mournfang cavalry box! I also added a bit of greenstuff to him, enjoy! cheers

Orcs & Goblins Shaman10

Orcs & Goblins Shaman11

THE STORY OF WAZKA DA NUTZ:

Wazka was born into the Bonerattlaz tribe. Growing up he was one of the smallest and weakest orcs in the tribe and was therefor often a victim to bullying. He was always the one to do the dirty work and always the one being used as a punching bag when ever some black orc needed an outlid. As a young orc he even had his eye burned out as an amusement to the Warboss of the tribe, Jaguz Ironknuckles. This treatment left Wazka rather unstable and often he would be heard mumbling to himself in different voices, which would always attract a scornfull laugh and a foot in the face.
This threatment went on for years and years until he one day decided to leave the tribe and started wandering north. His wandering took him into the troll country and eventually into the chaos wastes. Everytime he came across a settlement he would in the comfort of night sneak in and steal some food and garbage and in this manner he managed to survive for years and the further north he travelled the stronger the voices in his head became and eventually shifted more to multible personalities.
One day in his endless wandering, thinking of countless ways to end his miserable life in, one voice in his head became very clear. The voice was like a thousand thunders and every word uttered bought pain like a thousand needles to Wazka's brain. The voice identified himself as Gork. He told Wazka that it was not time for him to die yet and that he was a key in a plan for a giant Waaagh! that would lay vaste to most of the old world. The voice ordered Wazka in to a cave close by that soon turned into a network of tunnels. He wandered in complete darkness for what felt like weeks, all the time with the voice yelling and shouting at him, making his ears and nose bleed. Eventually he came to a giant cave, lid up with an eerie green light, which seemed to appear from no where. Here in the middle of the room laid the skeleton of the largest orc Wazka had ever seen. The orc had an old battered armour on and a grey pouch in his bony hand. The voice now revealed the plan to Wazka. He was to take the armour, which was a powerful magic item, to the badlands. He here would seek out a tribe known as the Ironface tribe and it's warboss Turok Ironface and present him the armour as a gift. He would also take the grey pouch with him, but Wazka was instructed never to open it until the voice would order him to it. In the badlands he was to become the power behind the throne, whispering instructions to the warboss of the Ironface tribe, gently pushing him in the direction that the voice of Gork wanted him to. Suddenly the voice was gone and the only thing that Wazka could here was the ordinary voices that had always been there, distant mumbling.
As he left the darkness of the cave he found himself with new powers and magic tricks, feeling strong and powerfull. He then began his journey south. This time when he came across a settlement he wouldn't hide like a rat, but just walked into the town square and set the town on fire with his newfound magic powers.
After a couple of months he found himself entering the camp of his former tribe, the Bonerattlaz. This naturally bought a few raised eyebrows and mumbling and after a couple of minutes a big black orc stood up, grabbed a stick and started walking towards Wazka with a malicious grin on his face. Seconds later his head exploded with a "pop". The spectators was stunned and only one orc had sence enough to mumble "me gonna tell da warboss" and scurry off in the direction of the largest tent in the camp. Seconds later Jaguz Ironknuckles stormed out of the tent with a couple of his big bosses, yelling "WUTZ GOIN' ON 'ERE?". The last thing he saw was the grin of Wazka before a giant green foot descented from the sky and crushed the former warboss of the Bonerattlaz tribe. A quick stare at the baffled orcs and Wazka had officially been named the new warboss of the tribe. Within minutes he had the entire camp packed and ready to journey south and after a couple of months of pillaging some towns of the Empire, Wazka and the Bonerattlaz entered the Badlands. Here he went straight to the campsite of the Ironface tribe and presented the armour to Turok and after a few magic tricks (most of which went out on the golins of the tribe) Turok was convinced that Wazka would b a valued ally and decided to enroll him and the Bonerattlaz into his evergrowing Ironface tribe...

That was the story of my third and last hero in my army, hope you enjoyed it (and sorry for misspelling and grammatical errors)! Sir, yes sir!

Nice and inspirational as someone making a Gobbo army. I like that you made a shaman rather than getting an already made one. I'll be putting up my night goblin shaman Doom Face in a few days once I get my camera back.

Thanks to both of you cheers Plutz, would be cool to see your goblins, perhaps I can find some inspiration there aswell!
BTW. is it just me or has this forum become much more silent? Perhaps it's just this thread scratch

ANYWAY, this weekend I finished my Trolls! I gotta say, I'm really proud how they turned out and I think they must be the best minis I've ever painted (and most fun too)! thumbsup They are just the regulare ones from the river trolls box:

I would say that you are correct; i.e., the Forum, while still reasonably active, is much quieter than it had been. As with most Forums, people tend to drift off after awhile. As I do my Birthday Thread, I get to see just how few of us are still here. AND a fair number of our active members are only active in their own threads; ignoring or not bothering to comment on the threads of other Forum Folk. C'est la vie, Eh?! Suspect

Just waiting for my sister to get back from her trip so I have a proper camera again. Also in the process of painting the Goblins and not doing as detailed a job as you since I just want to get the whole army painted quick.

DeafNala, I guess you are right! I'm not very active in neither warhammer, mordheim or on the computer during the summer as I spend my time outside, so the difference might be more obvious to me! About only being active in ones own threads: point taken Wink I for once will try to spread more out and try to make a positive chance, starting with my self sunny

Plutz, it doesn't really matter to me how "well" the army is painted, everyone does what is withing their abilities, and seeing a full army, painted or not, always is inspirering eeexcellent!

Thanks! Thought the brown colours would make them look more slimy and stinky (more like river trolls Wink ) and also tie them with the rest of the army! Main colours (beside green for skins) are brown in various shades!

BTW, just went through your armies on the other forums! Gotta say, love the Dark Elves, especially the harpy conversion! Good job thumbsup
