My Mordheim Terrain

Hello guys. Just found this forum, nice to see the game is still going strong. I played Mordheim with friends on and off from 1993-2005. I contributed a modeling article in TOWN CRYER 27 (the one with the Carnival in town) maybe some of you guys have that issue?

Your FANTASTIC gaming table is VERY, VERY IMPRESSIVE; the modeling, painting, & incredible detailing are really stunning. It will take many an enjoyable visit to pick out the little nuances you added to the Beasty...I love the ladder in the Library. VERY WELL DONE!

Welcome to Tom's! Its so much better to see those photos in color rather than the black and white of the TC.
I was inspired by the TC article, seeing them again with so much more detail is wonderful.

Great work and beautiful pics and action shots. I aso love the library, especially the piles of books on the floor.

TY Von Kurst! I'm so happy that my article back-in-the-day inspired you! At the time of that article, the ONLY Mordheim terrain i saw was from GW, so i set out to create my own version, and what fun it was! I ended up selling all the terrain and miniatures a few years ago, pieces went to Europe, America, but i still have the Library piece, as it was my favorite. If anyone is interested in buying it, send me a PM.

Great! As von Kurst allready said, its fan great to see those fantastic scenery pieces in full colour. You really did catch the spirit of mordheim at its best with those scenery pieces, and my favorite is of course the library with all those books spilled over the floor, again, fantastic work, thumbs up!

The books were tiny black mat board cut into rectangles, and painted different colors and 3 sides painted to look like pages.

yes, they were modular.Was fun to rearrange a different set-up each game!

The playing surface was a black vinyl mat, i stamped or printed acrylic paint cobble stones on, and can roll it up when stored.

A real gem your table, superb!

When you choose a type of board for a Mat in a picture frame, you cut out a window to show your photograph or artwork, this is "Mat Board" and comes in usually white,black, grey. I used Black Mat Board available at any art supply store in sheets of 32 x 40 and i cut them into tiny rectangles to scale for books.

Your stuff looks amazing! I'm inspired by all these great terrain pieces, but I've got a LONG way to go to make them look ANYTHING like these.

Oh my God, this is absolutely stunning. It doesn't even look like scenery anymore it's like we've arrived in Mordheim!! Truly amazing stuff!
