| Hi guys ... I finally got some new batteries - just its just a darned shame that my camera operating skill isnt really up to bringing you better pics ...but hopefully the pics are atleast adaquite to give a general appriciation the sorry state of my painting ...ok well hopefully its not entirely awful though ofcause some of you guys are in a very different league than a happy-go-lucky amateur like me ...... My Dwarven Noble My very first figure ...and a result Im quite happy with...A warrior - at the moment doing duty as a Clansman... My very last paintjob ...also a result Im quite ok with ...My 3 slayer figures.... Notice the yellow ...and blue stripes in the hair ...Currently doing his tour of duty ...as a 'lad's got talent' henchman named Ulli Ultenbrann This is the model that Im the least happy about ...I started out by having his beard in a different color and it just looked ...well wrong ...so I painted it over ...and it just looks awful ...The last of the bunch ...currently employed as Beardlings... | |

| Hi Boehm! Great! Thanks for posting! First off, your miniatures are REALLY good for someone who has just started painting. My first minis were a lot worse (and I mean A LOT!). Your painting is neat, you have a good choice of colours, you did some shading... I have nothing to criticise. Secondly, good pictures. You might want to activate the "macro" mode (sybol is usually a "flower", at least on SONY cameras) to get even sharper close-up pics. And lastly, i must agree with Erk. The only thing I would criticise on your minis is the lack of a base texture. You should really do something about that, and if it's only gravel. Thanks for sharing Boehm, and keep us posted! Cheers! | @ Tom ...thanks !
Regarding photos - I already have the macro-symbol activated.
Regarding bases - you are probably right ...I will look into buying some gravel or something next time im near the store that sells GW stuff ...- In the beginning, before I knew if I could really get into painting, I just decided to try to limit my expenses a bit ... | |

| You could simply put some sand on the bases, the easiest way, put quite effectif(and cheap). Then paint the sand in brown, a little bit drybrushing and that's it | |

| Nice paintjob, really! For the base, I recommand using ±5 thin cardboard tiles, arranged in a random and roughly square way to give a mordheimish look (a.k.a ruined city). You can replace these thin cardboard tiles by pop-sickle sticks, cutted in small tiles - that's what I use. It looks awesome IMO. | |

| Thanks for the tips folks ...I think I will try to do a "test base" ...with the tiles and see how I like it ! - that way if it works to my satisfaction then I dont have to buy any more stuff | |

| Anyway since Im trying to paint a bit again ...to get my band ready for our MEETUP ...I decided I needed a warlock figure ...loath to spend unnecessary money, I decided to try my hand at a simple (my very first) conversion ...of a (old) chaos marauder with a banner ....into a WARLOCK ...*tada* (dammit cant seem to take good pictures today ...both the focus and the light doesnt want to get right ...oh well ) PS: notice I did basing

| Hail Boehm, Nice Looking Minis! The Slayers with the multicolor hair are Cool, very Snorri Nosebiterish, as my Favorite character from the Gotrek & Felix series, this is a PLUS. G.W. makes some of the BEST Dwarves & you've picked out some the Best of the Best. The one eyed pistolier in particular is Very Cool & VERY NICELY PAINTED. I LOVE painting Dwarves [don't tell my Night Goblins ]! The Marauder Shaman conversion is Great; goes nicely with your Vertically Challenged War Band. I have a few of those guys, excellent minis. SO... WELL DONE! | |
