“Mr Grognog we need to make landfall. Send a hand aloft with a good glass and tell ‘im to find us a nice cosy bay or cove on that there island, what we can put the boats into.” said Adm’rul Kurgan.

Grognog knuckled his forehead and trotted off yelling orders. Kurgan leant on the rail and look over the choppy waters at the lush green trees that lined the shore. After weeks and months at sea, since leaving Estalia, the Ironfang Pirate Fleet’s stores were running low and if they weren’t replenished soon there would be even more arguments and fights aboard ship than usual.

So they made landfall on the small island in the hope of replenishing filling their holds by raiding some small town or village. There wasn’t much marked on the charts for this region but there was bound to be something here.

“So we gets a fight and a drink after? Can’t see no problems with that mate!” said Grognog as he eyed the scores of Dwarfs who were hurriedly forming up into regiments. Kurgan grinned at his first mate’s optimism and raised his cutlass, he was about to give the signal for the mobs of Orc Pirates to advance when he noticed a strange noise: Thump-thumpa-thumpa-thumpa. Two Dwarf Gyrocopters appeared over the town and swooped down low over the roves.
“Zoggit” he muttered.

PRETTY COOL LOOKING GAME...the Vertically Challenged Grumps are a tough nut to crack.
Are the Fortitude #s G.W's way of keeping score now? What a Face

Thanks Alan!

Fortitude and Breakpoint are the mechanic for one of the 6 "normal" scenarios: Blood & Glory.

Breakpoint is 1 point per 1000 points in the army.
Fortitude is 1 point per Standard or Battle Standard plus 2 points for the General. As soon as your Fortitude is equal to, or less than, your Breakpoint the game is over and you've lost.

I would not want to use that method in every game but it makes for a very clear cut result (which I love) and cuts out all the tedious maths after a game to tot-up Victory Points (which I hate)... For 1 game in 6 it's ace!

Nice table and photos. Sad news on the outcome. Hates stunties I does.

Have the gyrocopters gotten better? I don't recall one ever attacking one of my warmachines directly...

Thanks VK!

The Gyrocopters have actually got worse at attacking artillery with their ranged weapon (as the crew use the weapons Toughness against shooting) so they have to attack with close combat to be effective.

You are welcome.

I guess I had heard that and forgotten it as my interest in playing WFB waned some more.
