| These under ground pieces were inspired by "cianty's" post some time back. I really liked the idea of a modular underground terrain. They are 12"x12" built on 1/2" plywood for stability painted black. They are built out of 2" extruded polystyrene (pink). All of the eight modules that I built fit together, and can be totally re-arranged to fit any kind of skirmish in an underground environment. I will work on better photos of each piece in upcoming posts. Hope you enjoy and get some ideas of your own from these. [img] [/img] The tiles are thin cereal box cut and pasted on. Then drybrushed for effect. The crates are a bit of WIP...they are bulsa, drawn on with ballpoint. Stalagtites are a sort of egg carton made of cardboard.... Dwarves and their beer... I tried to achieve a torch glow in this next one...not sure...let me know if it worked. Thanks for looking.... | |

| What an introduction!!! Your dungon looks fantastic, I really like the look of the green and black tiles and the torch glow woks really well. What struck me most however is the clever little weapon swaps on the slayer dwarf pirates and the converted plastic bretonian archer body. Can we have some more pics please? | |

| Thanks for the great comments...The dwarves were a challenge to convert....and I love using my old brettonian archers for body part...so easy to convert...I am working on a group of brettonian knights that I will post when I get pics of... Here are some more to tide you over... In the dungeons, I like the dwarf carrying the lamp! Here he is again...both dwarves are converts, I cut hands and weapons, added new ones, a little green stuff, and a few extras from the bits box...I really like the dual hammer dwarf. Humans vs dwarves... I dont have a great pic on my laptop of this guy, but he is actually a brettonian (metal) man-at-arms, cut the pike, head and arms, added the pistol, hairy head and other arm... Hope you all like | |

| I second that. With eight modules you must be able to play some great games. | |

| I like the look of the dungeon parts, and totally agree with FKSN: overview, please! Your minis are vividly coloured, which I like alot, and I also think you've achieved some great colour contrasts. I think you should be a bit more careful to remove mold lines from your minis in the future though, some are quite clearly visible on the minis...

| Folketsfiende: Yea I didnt realize how much you can see the mold lines on the close ups. To late for these unfortunates, but I will work on it in the future...
Thanks all for the great comments...
As the modular peices are terrain I have posted a bunch of pics of them in the Gallery/Scenery section of this website titled "mavfire's underground" go there to check them out.
Thanks for your interest. | |
