| Starting up the Carnival of Chaos warband, but I'd rather not drop $50 on the official plague cart. How would you go about piecing one together? Any ideas on which bitz to buy to convert one? | |

| The Vampire Counts corpse cart might be a good bet. Usually quite cheap as it comes in the battalion. | |

| You could always use plasticard or stuff found around the house? Rectangular prism for the body (some box of somekind. Plasticard glued toghethor. <--cant spell) Wheels from something like a childs toy cart mabye? and just other bits to trim it up. Plasticard will probably be the easiest way.

| The fiddly bits:
Driver. Anything with a heavy cloak draped over it will pass muster, pretty much.
Horses. You can either take the easy route and just grab whatever horses you have, and paint them nurglish. Or you can get ambitious and greenstuff all the rotting nurgle goodness.
Wheels. Anything round of a fitting size can be made into passable wheels. Coke bottle caps comes to mind.
If you're copying the GW plague cart, the rest is just a rectangular box.
The corpse cart will get you far - you'll just need to worry about horses then. | |

| Hi, its funny, just yesterday I asked myself the same question. I have (or partially have) a CoC band and I wondered how to build a plaque cart. Certainly, the original GW model has some drawbacks, first its price, second the model itself and third it is made of metal. GW alternative would be maybe the black chariot but it pretty much has the same drawbacks, except that it looks awesome but maybe not really fit to the style of the band. Personally I will go with building a scratch build. Currently I am just doing drawings since I am far from home for the next 2 months, but I think it is doable. I think it would be nice to have more like a carnival cart, maybe with some kind of cage. So I think you could definitely use plastic card for the framework and then use Milliput or Green Stuff to model the wood. For the wheels I would recommend taking some of another model. For the driver I like the model of the corpse cart. So here is what I would do if you want to build your own. do some drawings, take a look at the internet or maybe some other cart models. Then do the basic shape with plastic card. For stability I think an appropriate thickness has to be chosen here. Superglue and paperclips for putting it together. Take into account that you would like to add some structure and mass to the framework. Since most parts are made of wood, I think a putty like milliput or magic sculp are a good choice since the can be smoothed with water pretty easy. (of course GS works fine, just a matter of taste here). Add some thin layer, depending on where you want your structure - compare it to the construction of a Mortheim building, where the guys use selitron or polyst. and carve the structure into it, same here with the putty - and add structure with your tools. For wood, some fine lines, inspire yourself by taking a look at pictures or real wood. Keep it thin but not to thin in order do have enough mass to add structure. For the construction of the axes take a look at pictures of real carts. Plastic tubes, paperclips, q-tips, or brass are the materials of choice here. The wheels as mentioned should be taken from a third party. For the part (I don't know the English name) which holds the 'horses' i would do the framework with some paperclip or wire and then build up the mass with putty. maybe one layer as basis, let it cure and then another layer for the wooden structure. If you like to have a cart as the one from GW, which is basically a box with wheels I think it is a nice idea to make your own. if you have no experience with sculpting or want to buy a model simply forget this post | |

| Hey guys, i've just uploaded some pictures of my scratch built plague cart. Used a block of polysterene covered in cardboard covered in greenstuff scratched to look like wood. I've also seen one somewhere that had an openable back with theatre scenes painted inside! Will try and find | |
