..."Cough"... I was thinking the same actually, but what ever floats your boat (no pun intended heh) I got to say that I was expecting to see more in the line of dock workers, jailers, high elfes and the like.

| It may be that a lot of the existing human warbands fit right into the Mariengburg setting so why add more? Mercenaries, Pirates, Tilians and other warbands (e.g. from SK's Sartosa) would fit right in at Mariengburg I imagine.
It's actually interesting that there is no mention of Sea Elf Rangers. They must have been scrapped after playtesting or perhaps there are more warbands left to be announced (which does seem unlikely because there are a LOT of new warbands mentioned here already).

| The shortage of humans was my first thought too, but if standard Mordheim mercs are allowed, it should be good. | |

| As far as Marienburg's concerned, the ones I'm most excited about are the River Pirates, Fishmen, and Albions. Not to say that I wouldn't love seeing Zoats, Fimirs, and Gnomes... I'm just not sure how they fit in with the MiM setting. (Then again, in MY head, Zoats were lumped into the New world and Southland along with the other cold-blooded lizards. But that's just my feverish mind.) I really am excited to see more. If there are new rules/objectives/campaign goals for MiM campaign warbands, I would be honored to convert some for the Sartosa Warbands... anything to help the southern pirates feel more at home in the Marienburg ports! | |

| I have noticed that when playing in a new setting most players will bring the tried and true or show up with Lizardmen. My orc pirates are figuring Marienburg to be easy pickings. | |

| Upon second thoughts I'm actually convinced that this is an April Fool's Day joke. It just doesn't sit right with me (maybe it is the absence of previously revealed Sea Elf Raners or the inclusion of too many 'odd' races I don't know). I guess we'll find out tomorrow. | |

| "This is a fertile canal... And we shall thrive!"I hope you all enjoyed the fool guys... The question only remains how much truth is there to be found in this amusing exercise? Expect a selection of pirate warbands in Marienburg, consisting of crews who 'mostly' resemble humans... Local law enforcement agencies are going to have their work cut out. Thanks, Werekin | |

| I understand that you have used the Mariemburg source book from the RPG? Hence I expected a bit different warbands, one might say hehe Good one though! | |

'Marienburg: Sold Down The River' is a sensational source book. It really struck a chord with me when I was reading it. There are numerous reasons why I thought it would be cool to work on this setting. One of the selling points was of course the ridiculous amount of piracy that is going on. Regards, Werekin

| Hi Werkin, nice prank
When will be the first warbands of your setting released?
Do you start with the warbands or will you release first some setting rules, as you did before with the old swords on new contracts article?

It was fun. You definitely fooled me initally. What truth hey? The River Pirates definitely. I also reckon that Fimir are a possibility. At a long shot would be Gnomes anmd/or Albioners. I'm thinking other warbands that are not mentioned would be Sea Elf Rangers and the City Guard / Watchmen. Maybe a re-release of Tilians (with any errata - e.g. change Pikes to be like Pikes from the BTB Merchant Caravan warband) similiar to how the Norse were re-released in Nemesis Crown. My three-year old son wanted me to add these:

| Fimirs: On another thread, I recommended that a member use Fimirs/Boglars as a "counts as Lizardmen" warband. The more I think about it, the more I"m tempted to try it myself! The contrast of powerful, slow moving Fimirs and quick, weak aquatic boglars seems like too much fun! (Fits better in another campaign though... maybe a Badlands Campaign?) Gnomes: Hey, I don't think there's any official fluff on them, and I have no interest in writing them myself... but if someone wrote a balanced Gnome warband, you can bet your sweet they'd show up in the Moot /Wee War campaign I'm working on. | |
