WIP Mordheim house. Again)

With great pleasure I came back to the my favorite Mordheim-style buildings)
So, a little WIP to the first house.

1. Make a basement. Dimensions, approximately 12x15cm, height - 1,5-2cm. The middle beam to make a floor more stronger.



2. Glue up the floor to basement



3. Put bars for the walls. The height of the wall is 7 cm, so the bars height is 7cm too



4. Making the Wall # 1. Cut a doorway:



5. Cut pieces of foam for the koblestoneg (it will be better to make the size and thickness of stones differ - it is more naturalistic and more interesting to paint)



6. Glue the stones around the perimeter of the doorway. Doing it outside and inside (if you want to create interior):





7. To make the interior i carved planks, and then cuts through this markup with a knife (not a deep 1-2m). Then again passes on the cuts with a ballpoint pen:







8. And then using a fine ballpoint pen i carved the texture of wood on planks:





9. On the front side i made the texture of the plaster or smth like that (I used a tool for manicure)) and then carve some cracks and other eyecandies:



10. Glue up the wall #1 to basement:


11. Doing in a similar manner the remaining three walls. For wood beams I used balsa 3mm thick. Great stuff!





12. Glue up all walls to the basement:


13. Decorate the basement with wood beams, and the rest area i cover with pieces of Styrofoam to simulate coble stone(similar to the doorway) :

19. Cut some thin planks fom foam to coat the floor (balsa is too expensive for it, i think):

22. Coat the doorstep with "coble stone"

It is simple: i just take many of small foam pieces and put them on object (wall for example) and it looks like stone work)

23. Build a base for a chimney:



24. Start the third level and the roof:
Cut two small triangle for small roof, make texture on 'em :

26. I thought alot about how to make removable roof. And i decided to make it like this:

28. Glue up triangles to the floor and put some balsa planks:



29. Cut the hatch and build a floor with foam-beams:

That is just very very cool...great paintjob, the subtle colour shifting between the different stones and the different roof tiles makes the piece look natural and...well, just outstanding. Now go make 15 more to fill a board!
