Up until recently, I've never really been that bothered at making my own scenery for gaming. I've always had so many other things to model and paint I've just never got round to it! However, since 8th Edition Fantasy came along and having a nose at the special terrain rules, it's inspired me to give scenery a go.

Since my Fantasy army is Lizardmen (and I used to have a Lizardmen Mordheim warband), I've conjured up this Lustrian themed piece. Having read up on Lizardmen spawning pools, this is what I though they'd look like. The idea was primarily for Fantasy games but I guess it coud also be used in some Lustria / Mordhein campaign stylee?

Comments and constructive criticism is most welcome. I've never put pics on a forum before so apologies if they take too long to load or are too big or anything. This is my first ever scenery project...!

EXCELLENT LOOKING terrain piece...you're a natural. The water effect turned out spectacular...VERY WELL DONE! thumbsup

The size of the photos is just fine; you wouldn't believe what I went through to put up my first photos...it's still a major pain in the lower extremities. Suspect What a Face

Looking good! As others have pointed out, those bubbles are great. Makes the whole thing come alive. Also, good use of lizardmen bits!

Oooh, good stuff!
You really nailed the water effect.. great choice of colors and great sense of scale to the whole thing.

If I was to find something to add, it'd be some color variation to the stone parts. Some contrasting washes could give it a lot more life and depth.

You've got yourself a new fanclub here girly, better start sketching on your next project Wink

Edit: No worries on picture size. I don't know if it's your image host that resizes them, but the end result is all good.

Fantastic! I love you
Capital work there, especially with the bubbles and the bits - the whole thing really comes to life. I would strongly suggest a lid or something for storing the piece lest small lizards crawl out of it and badger you. Wink

Thanks so much for the comments guys, really appreciate the feedback! Smile

For those of you who asked... the bubbles are just beads cut in half and squelched into the green stuff that makes up the swampy water. The dips represent bubbles that have just burst.

The idea from this piece came from a fairly recent issue of White Dwarf, where someone made a pool of blood using the Arcane Ruins set.

Both the Template & the Frog are LOOKING GOOD! Frogs, particularly the Tree Frogs, can have VERY vibrant & attractive coloration. Keep up the FINE WORK! thumbsup
