I really like the multiple types of dice system for Warhammer 3rd Ed. Also the more dangerous feel to combat and the many options it provides really helps. There are some problems, most just due to the high cost and limited range of careers, but overall a fun good system.

Personally I have played and/or GM'd each of the systems above, plus several others (Orcworld, several homebrewed, and more)

I really like "Das Schwarze Auge". It's a German fantasy system, and very popular here I think. Though I didn't have the opportunity to play much, I really liked the times I did and especially love the whole background provided

For quite a few years I was a devoted AD&D (TSR) player & D.M.

Must admit that I am still a fan of the original D&D without all of the commercial scenarios - it brought out a lot of imagination from the game masters that I played with in the '70s ... I guess The_Ferret is showing his age, but I can honestly claim to have played in the first ever game of D&D in South Australia! Also a fan of the original Runequest too!

I'm a big fan of the Old World of Darkness - Vampire, Werewolf, Mage, Wraith, Changeling, Mummy, Demon, Hunter, Kindred of the East, the lot!

I also love the Legend of the 5 Rings and 7th Sea systems. In fact, I converted 7th Sea to L5R rules, so that you could include 'gaijin' characters and storylines. Guess I'd read Shogun one too many times!

WHERE is Warhammer Fantasy Role Play 1st ed.? This was the best RPG I've ever played... the 2nd ed. was closer to the Old World I know from the tabletops, but I still prefer the 1st ed.

It's really nice. I bought it in 2004 and I think it's one of the 3 best fantasy worlds in RPGs (with Warhammer and Warcraft). If I had time to play anything... I want back to school

First edition Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay was great!

My favourite though is True20. It's a trimmed down and much more elegant version of the D20 system. It's fast and very suitable for people who like to tinker and make up their own stuff. As a bonus almost all D20 content works with it with a minimal amount of tweaking. It's really worth a look and you can often find it fairly cheap on eBay.I picked up the core rules and the very useful companion book for under a fiver.

Anyone played Living Steel? A friend at work keeps telling me about it. It sounds fun, but complicated.
