Help with the Staff of Damnation from the Necrarch list?

The Staff of Damnation from the Necrarch list has no rarity. Is it intended as a common item?
Has there been discussion about this before and I missed it?

OK. So more questions. The warband appears in LotD #1. I don't see an author credited. Who wrote it? Is it someone I can track down and pester on the Mordheim Group for example?

We assigned a rarity of 8 based on the cost and a comparison to similar warband only items. Does that sound fair?

I've posted a topic on the Yahoo Mordheim email group. Hopefully Brahm Tazoul (who either is the author or who would know the author) is more active there than he is here.

If we get no answer than we can email him directly.

I did not assign a rarity to the staff because only a necrarch may bear one. It is assumed that these masters of ancient magics craft them themselves, and the price is merely there to represent the cost of doing so. Upgraded Thralls may craft one for themselves should they find themselves in the captains seat (so to speak).

If you'd like to add them to random treasures found for whatever reason, a rarity of 8 seems low for it's capabilities (and scarcity). I'd go with 10+ (but of course feel free to house-rule it as you see fit).
