These two only took me a YEAR to paint!!! :blush:

Standard and Musician for my main Mordheim warband the the Ogresuns (just in case they are needed in a Warhammer game):

Has it been a year? How time flies.
Well it takes awhile to get your head around a concertina playing Orc. VERY NICELY DONE...well worth the wait.

Very nearly a year - it was November 2010 when I posted the WIP photos!

I need to sort out the chalky-varnish... It has been suggested that the banner could do with a design on the canvas and the concertina should be a lighter brown, so I'll fix all those together over the weekend.

Right, problems addressed:



I've used a lighter brown on the squeeze box:



I've added a design to the banner:



And I've done a second coat of (really well shaken) Purity Seal varnish. I did the last one in too much of a hurry and late at night, so it was quite cold.







And.... I've started "The Quarter Master" - a Mordheim Dramatis Personae, he is the owner of the Lock & Quay inn and the Vercuso Fighting Pits below it.





He's made from the new(ish) plastic Nurgle Lord with a head-swap, the chaos icons scraped off and a fair bit of greenstuff (normal and liquid).

Glad the lads turned out ok after their varnish scare. I have a troll that has never recovered and a witch hunter that took a repaint to bounce back. It would be nice if banners and warhorns could be given to henchmen instead of heroes to increase the number of cool models in a band.

If the Quartermaster had proper boots instead of that chaosy armor on his feet he would be perfect.

Rules? I'm sure the lad would take over the Blow Hole or the Tavern on the Wall if we asked nice...

I think the QM's neck is a bit, erm.., tall. The greaves I dig.

Do you have any shots of all these twenty pages worth of pirates all together?

The Quarter Master is really promising...Will you "fatten" a bit his face?

I have fattened his neck a bit - he's undercoated now and about half-way through painting.

I haven't got a group-shot of everything (as to be honest you won't be able to see much with it all on one table!) I have a few shots of Warhammer games with a lot of it... have a look here

Nice models! That mutated troll reminds me of the Gotrek and Felix story 'The Dark Beneath the World'.

More non-greenskins now. The Quartermaster (the owner of the Lock & Quay inn and the Vercuso Fighting Pits below it) and an as-yet-unnamed human pirate.

Nice change from the usual Orcish fare. I think I'd pass on food & drink at the Lock & Quay though.

Strange, even for a Shaman, he shouts random sayings and expressions in times of stress.









Big Uluc - Orc Big'Un
Silent and brutal, this Black Orc had his tongue cut out years ago. He carries a huge Ogre Club.

An obsequious and fawning toady, he is always nervous and greedy.

I've taken inspiration from a wide number of sources for these Boyz - Sinbad the Sailor, Aladdin, the Thief of Baghdad (and other tales of the One Thousand and One Arabian Nights), Prince of Persia, Ottoman Turks, Barbary Corsairs, pantomime, and of course Pirates of the Caribbean 3 (the character Ammand the Corsair from the Brethren Court scene).

I want to add a mix of huge turbans, long robes, wicked scimitars, wide belly-sashes, fez, flying carpets, magic lamps and baggy trousers throughout the warband. I will try to make every model an individual character with their own role in the crew.

The Arabian orcs are very nicely done & even more original

These may very well be my favorites of all the various Orc Bands your fertile imagination has thus far created. They should pant up WONDERFULLY!
