| I just started work on a new warband. I really wanted to try something different and decided to make a Slaanesh themed warband. I plan on making some gaming rules for them also. I figure Slaanesh must be annoyed that Nurgle is having all the fun with the Carnival of Chaos! So Slaanesh has decided to take some of the glory way from good ol' Nugle and show that his followers are just as great if not better performers then Nurgle's followers are, and so Slaanesh has created the (cue the phantom of the opera theme music)............The Opera of the Damned. The warband is made up of twisted but beautiful performers who have given themselves to the dark powers of Slaanesh. They are lead by the Director the one who runs the show behind the scenes and also preforms as Death in the various operas. Next there is the Maestro the conductor of the vile troupe he can create horrible yet intoxicating music and is the spell caster for the opera. The Singers are the ones with some very sinister voices, they can shatter armor and eardrums with their vile songs. Finally for the heroes there are the Jesters these comedic characters entertain their victims with delight as they approach for the kill. The henchmen for the warband are the actors, musicians, stagehands, and beastmen. Actors are well equipped and decent fighters. Musicians play dreadfully bad music that hurts the ears of those they fight making them hard to hit within a certain range. Stagehands are poor fighters but can out number their foes and beat them down. Some wild and twisted beastmen help with all the various parts of the opera. The Opera is very similar to Carnival of Chaos as they travel from one village to another seeking to create pain for pleasure. Except they like to kill people with terribly beautiful awful music and whips. I hope this helps to give you an idea what I am shooting for. I think its pretty unique concept and take on slaneesh (anyone remember the noise marines from WH40k) and should be fun to make and play with. Anyways I've actually started some work on the rules and am hoping to start play testing them as soon as I've finished up painting them up. So now onto the modelling and painting already!!! Sorry my photos are not the best. I need more practice. I will try to keep up to date with more photos later! Opera of Chaos 1 by Mobad007, on Flickr So it begins! Opera of Chaos 2 by Mobad007, on Flickr Singers and the Jester coming along nicely. | |

| WHAT A COOL IDEA! It reminds me of The Theatre of the Damned from Interview with a Vampire. The inclusion of Goblins gives me some ideas for my own Night Goblins. The Reaper Dwarf in pink & horns looks TERRIFIC...silly, but terrific nonetheless. The entire troupe has such a lot of potential...it's going to be a pleasure watching them develop. Keep up the FINE WORK! | |

| Thanks for the comments! I think i am done with a couple of the guys. I am not very good at putting tons of time into a single model, I need to really work on that! Here are some pictures. One of the actors Another actor The Jester is all finished I like the way he turned out! Simple but fun to paint. Pink beastman on the loose.....run for your life!! Not sure if I like how my Opera singer turned out. Seems like shes missing something..maybe a weapon. I love this guy probably my favorite so far I need to add a slaneesh symbol to his mug still. Finally here is the Maestro. I really like how he turned out. His pale blue mask and horns are my favorite oh and his staff is very weird which is cool. Hope you guys liked them. I still have lots more to go. Thanks again for the comments! | |

| Now that's a really good idea for a warband! I like your fluff, and your colour scheme is really eyecatching. I'm not sure about the warlikeness of some of the models, but hey, it's Mordheim, so they've gotta fight, right? If you want to do something extra to any of the models, perhaps some inking or washing might be an idea?
To sum it up: a really cool warband based on a really cool idea!

| A FINE LOOKING TROUPE! The Jester & the Diva are my favorites. It would be REALLY COOL to carry their look throughout the Band. Additional washes & highlighting would enhace the appearance, but how far you wish to take the beasty is your prerogative. VERY WELL DONE! | |

| Nice work.
I would really like to see some rules for those guys. We have someone in our campaign who'd like to play as Slaanesh.

| Thanks for the comments. I am still busy at work on the warband, I think i am ready to start testing them out. Grubbi I have started work on some rules they seem pretty good so far. The warband thus far is pretty good at being fast and are hard to hit in combat. That seems to be their main focus so far. I will keep working on the rules and post them when I get the chance. I think slaneesh is all about speed and being hard to hit over strength and shear power. Anyways I hope to have some rules posted coming up when I have more free time! Thanks for the interest! Talk to you all later here are some pictures of the evil stage hands | |

| VERY COOL use of the Night Goblins...merry little Rogues aren't they? I won't imagine the Slaanesh Folk would be difficult to hit...they'd probably enjoy it. | |

| LOL... Just thinking, a Dutch word for "to hit" is "slaan"... Makes you wonder doesn't it.... Anyways, I like that you are using different models for 1 warband. Can't wait to see some rules for them as well. | |

| Really neat so far. I'm a music theatre major, so I definitely appreciate the nod to the arts.
As for "flamboyant" theatre costumes, I definitely recommend the Eldar Harlequins. Very old fashioned Euro-artsy.

| You've got a SMASH HIT underway...definitely BOFFO! The Bag Piper of Doom is one of my favorite Squig Herders...the Cymbal Wielding Loony would make nice addition to the Orchestra. Using the dark foam as a background makes it difficult to see the minis, but, despite that they both look VERY WELL DONE! | |

| This looks like such a fun warband to paint! A lot of cool models, funky colors and creative touches nice work.
Sometimes I get tired of painting guys all dark and gritty. It must be fun to do a warband that is birght and colorful.
