| Hullo! I'm trying to start a Halfling/Goblin campaign in the near future, and was wondering if anyone knew of any cheap halfling miniatures that a person can buy. They don't have to be GW, but I'd prefer if they were:
~28 mm (or on the big side of 25) ~Come in wide variety (this is for warbands of 20 warriors, so 3 poses won't cut it.) ~Cheaper than GW (why? 'cause I'm stingy. If they cost more, I'll just go to GW)
Details aren't my number one concern. Any ideas?

| Reaper has a bunch of halflings, and I imagine they amount to less than GW figs and have much greater variety. They're a slightly different style, though, and will probably lack some of the character and rotundity of GW's halflings.
On a sidenote - what halfling miniatures does GW still produce? I thought they were pretty much all OOP.

| Here's a link to Reaper's Halflings: http://www.reapermini.com/Miniatures/halflingThey range in price from 2.99 to 4.99. - Myntokk wrote:

The last ones G.W. had we're Lumpkin Crop's Rangers. Since they dropped all the rest of the Dogs of War minis, I would imagine they bit the dust also...bummer.

| Like deaf said, the halflings that black tree eventually delivered are really great! Somewhat smaller then the GW figures (especially in the head-region) but great quality and back-for-the-buck value is super. I found this site to be rather helpfull as well: Halfling showcase | |

| I just found Mirliton SG's 25/28mm "Half-Men", which aren't too far off from GW-style halflings. A tad thinner and somewhat longer legs, but otherwise a decent fit. The price looks like a bargain, although I don't know how they'll scale up to the GW halflings. They may be quite short in comparisson. Mirliton SG Half-Men | |

| Thanks again, guys..
I'd probably go with the black tree, depending on what I fielded... for example, the Robin Hood might be too hard to pass up for Halfling Foresters.

| if you go to the GW site and click on warhammer > Collectors > Empire you can still get the hot pot catapult & The lumpin croops fighting cocks. Also, the specialist games part you can still get the bloodbowl team.
I like the ones from Heresy miniatures Personally.
Tritex games have a selection of them too

| I don't know how cheap they're gong to be, but Reaper has announced that there will be an Halfling expansion army/faction to their Warlord Game...this should mean accompanying minis. | |

| I keep thinking Cassanunder from the discworld miniatures range would make a good halfling mini | |

| The battleforge ones are quite a bit taller than GW halflings...not the greatest sculpts either, serviceable but somewhat lacking.
Pretty decent prices though.

| I actually quite like the Battleforge halflings. Too bad they're a tad tall to match with GW halflings, but I've always thought that aesthetically they're a nice match. I've considered them for a long time now, good to know they're a bit tall though. If I do get them, I'll try to build my warband out of Battleforge only to maintain a consistent size. Also, I know the OP was a long time ago, but just to add to the thread I recently stumbled across Warploque Miniatures, who do a decent halfling line. No idea how they would scale with GW figures, though. They also have some nice-looking undead pirates coming soon... | |

| I've got a whole box of GW LotR hobbits lying around, for the same purpose, I like the fact that they're not that fat, and got a wide collection of looks, though armed roughly the same, but for a modeller, that isn't much of a problem I'd reckon. They are however priced quite like GW would price all their miniatures... /captain obvious out. | |
