The town of Gladbeck

Hey guys!
Just wanted to show the first few buildings we´ve build for Mordheim so far...
It ain´t much, but we´re ambitious to do more in the closer future!

Now, to the first building my brother and a good friend build for my 21th birthday.
Last month, I finished the paint job then











But the interior is still far away from being finished




Ok, that was the very first building for Mordheim that was built in our gaming group, so C&C please!

I like it. It reminds me of a creepy old barn. Can the bottom floor be accessed?

VERY COOL LOOKING Coach House(?)...I LOVE the outside stairs & the roof tiles. Doing the entire Coaching Inn thingy would be a GREAT project. VERY WELL DONE!

I agree with earlier comments! Looks very real. Though I wonder; what is the roof made of?

Actually any chance you can tell us what it's made out of overall and how it was done? (comlpte noob here XD)

Yeah, it can be accessed through the front door you see at picture 2! There´s also a back door, but that´s just for the gaming "dimension", we can´t really open that door (you can see it at picture4 form outside and at picture6 form the interior).

The roof´s made of "corrugated cardboard" (that´s the only translation I could find )


The 1st floor, the outside stairs and most of the details were made of balsa wood.
The walls of the ground floor were made of styrodur (is that known outside of germany?). But we also put some "structure paint" (I found absolutely no translation) on it, so now it looks more like plasterwork.


Ok, now I´ll show some barricades/walls I made yesterday.
They mainly consist of balsa wood, styrodur and some bitz I could loot in our hobby room!

Well, nothing special, but that makes our gaming table at least a bit more stuffed

I like the design of the building, looks good.

I especially like the wooden second story, it really does carry that Mordheim feel.

Corrugated cardboard is great for making roofs! I just thought it looked like rubber at first, dont know why

I really like the way the baricades look like they have been used and attacked especialy the one with the table.

Ok, here´s another WIP for you, this time it´s a more or less intact house my brother is building at the moment.
When it´s done, it´s gonna be awesome imo!

As you can see, there´s still some work to do on the roof and after that, I´ll have to start with the paint job....I´m a bit nervous about that

I Love it, I also love the fact that it is asymmetrical and trapezoid. More fairytailish IMO.

Looking great so far! You and your brother have a good knack for the woodwork details. I also agree with Superscenic; the irregular shape of the house gives it a lot of character. The barricades are pretty clever as well.

How did you get that cool texture effect on the base of the first building?

COOL STUFF! The Barricades look TERRIFIC...LOVE the table. Your Bro's. house is SPECTACULAR...especially the woodwork & the shingles. KEEP UP THE FINE WORK!

Well, that was pretty simple. I just mixed black paint from the hardware store with some bird sand, put it on the base and painted it with 3 shades of grey afterwards.
I was pretty surprised myself that this mixture looked quite nice in the end

Your Mordheim table is going to be awesomely good-looking and playable! I especially like your brothers's last building - though it's still a WIP, those removable floors and roof already promise great gameplay !

Did anyone else read the title as The Town of Glenbeck? Gods, but that would be a scary ass town... I think I'd rather live in Mordheim.

Oh, and very nice buildings. I just started doing balsa wood buildings myself. :3
