| I have always wanted to make a Pit Fighter warband but I really didn't like the GW Pit Fighters. So I was a bit stumped on what do use. The Empire models weren't gladiatory enough for me, and I couldn't think of any other suitable models from GW. That was until I got some Lotr Uruk-hai models of a friend I decided these models would look quite nice as an alternate beast from the forest making a living fighting in the pits. Before I show some pics of my converted models some quick questions. 1. Do you know what I should call them, something beastmen like? 2. What should my Pit King be called? 3. How should I paint them, I don't have heaps of paints, but I don't mind getting some. 4. What do you think I should use for the Dwarf Slayer and Ogre? Here they are. Firstly the Pit King: Pit King by Grubbi, on Flickr by Grubbi, on Flickr Now the Pit Veteran(s) Prit Veterans by Grubbi, on Flickr Prit Veterans by Grubbi, on Flickr Pursurer(s) Pursurer by Grubbi, on Flickr There's a net near his foot which is a bit hard to see. Pursurer by Grubbi, on Flickr And a WIP Pursurer Pursurer by Grubbi, on Flickr I'm not going to make any more than the ones in my starting warband until Iknow what they're good with (gamewise) C&C Welcome.

| I love the tridents = spear with parry, quite awesome! What rules are you using? I like the rules where you can arm them yourself much better then the ones where they are armed as other armies... | |

I'm using the rules where you have styles that have set equipment. I don't mind these rules, but I haven't played a game with them yet . | |

| While I'm not all that fond of G.W'.'s LotR minis, these Guys look GREAT as Pit Fighters...clever idea. I'm looking forward to seeing how they look all painted up. | |

| excellent idea! as far as paint....i would go with a fleshtone washed in a muddy brown for an unwashed look....actually close to the GW beastmen paintjob would look cool. now with your stand in here is my suggestions Ogre: Dwarf Slayer (model on left) i know they are both still LOTR figures, but i think they fit well without deviating from your warbands flavor. BTW, thanks for bringing up the lotr models, thinking about picking some up for some witch hunter conversions! helped me out alot! | |

| Well...I lied. I made two undead style pit fighters and some orc style ones. I've painted up a orc style Pit Veteran (I've changed my pit Veteran models so they look cooler and re easier to tell apart from my normal orc style pit fighters) which I'll post up soon. | |

| I agree with deafnala here. Clever to use the LOTR-urukhai. Actually, when I first saw them I though they were gladiators... | |

| Awesome! I have never even noticed how great the LotR orcs would be for a pit fighter warband! Great idea! |
