| While I am reconstructing the lost reports for the Grudge of Sheer narrative, the campaign proper is still ongoing (I WILL have updates before I shuffle off this mortal coil, I swear!) While still ongoing we are working on new pieces of terrain and I thought you might like to take a look, offer up some comments and some suggestions as well. With that, here we go on the latest piece... Here sits an idea, in its raw form, waiting for some shaping! Piles of heaped up dreams.... Enter modern technology! Still wondering where I am going with this one? Here we are witness to the birth of the Mouth of Hurokan Chasm, set in the midst of the steaming jungles of Lustria and an obstacle that Captain Sheer and his band of Renown are going to have to master if they are to complete their mission and bring down the greenskin warbands of BlackSquig. But first of course, it has to be built! Yes, I was inspired by the GW terrain that was featured back in WD #305, but I am making changes to it to fit the campaign theme and my own crazy ideas! Look Ma, it floats! Basically you can see that we are looking at a horseshoe type canyon here. I am going to be widening some of the ledges to enable models to stand on them, plus building up the cave entrance so it looks like a natural cave entrance. I added the Warhammer Quest doorframe to it for some scale only, I want the cave jagged and with some hanging rocks and such. The caves allow for loads of Vampire Bats that dwell near the chasm. The middle will of course allow for a waterfall that will spill into the bottom of the chasm and flow southward. I am going to be adding more rocks to the bottom of the falls and some downstream. Again this will allow for possible river crossings if one can leap from rock to rock. Above the falls will be more rocks that might allow for a dangerous crossing, modeled around lots of Water Effect, which will also be added to the bottom of the chasm floor. A slip here and its all over for Rover! And of course it wouldn’t be complete without a rickety rope bridge, right? So I am planning some sort of conventional crossing point, but just straight across, not broken up by any sort of rock pillars like the GW one. I was never a fan of that. Here are a few more pics for scale: And even famed Goblin explorer Bugger Snotfinger and his faithful pack Squigs has found his way to Lustria it seems! That’s where I am right now ladz! Moving towards sanding and shaping this week as time allows and then it will be time to add the water! Da Kaptain

| FANTASTIC! That is adventure on an EPIC scale... VERY IMPRESSIVE. The sheer volume of imagination/creativity involved in The Project will require many a visit to approach full appreciation... INSPIRING STUFF; VERY WELL DONE! As a friend of furry, four legged folk, I also like the cats. Of course with cats, the question as to who owns whom is rather debatable. As a Goblin Guy there are a number of GREAT ideas to steal. The Pack Squigs & Deff Rattle are BRILLIANT creations. Thanks for the insipiration. | |

But what I really want to know is why two of our cats (Doc Holiday and Sinbad) are doing visiting you?

| Thanks everyone for your more than kind response and interest! This piece is alot bigger than something I would normally mess with and it is going to be a project. I am hoping to pick everyone's brain while I am going along here for ideas to improve the overall piece! While it will be the final part added, I have been looking for ways to do the waterfall effects and I found this one I like alot. Let me know what you think! http://www.thewhistlepost.com/forums/tips-tricks-techniques/7916-waterfall-tutorial.htmlMore updates this coming week! Da Kaptain

| How are you going to store it? Transport it?
Howard Whitehouse did an article on a waterfall with caves behind it in Wargames Illustrated a few years back...
Playtable made his bridge over the Snake River by cutting up bamboo place-mats. Those are sweet.

| I did alot of checking and I really like the way this gentleman did the waterfall. It looks pretty realistic I think. While the water effect I am going to add will not be clear, I am thinking of leaving the falling water clear like in the pictures. Add a small tinge of greenish blue maybe, but overall I really like the effect. I am going to have a few rocks sticking out and "bend" the liquid nails so they flow around it on the way down. - Quote :

I have overhangs for my terrain mounted on the ceiling, I will just slide it in when not in use. As far as transport, it helps when I have a van and a pickup and the local store is three minutes away! - Quote :

That sounds interesting. I will check into that. I was going to use balsa slats and such but that might be an easier and quicker way. - Quote :

That makes two of us mate! LOL! This is bigger than anything I have tried before so the jury is out on the final product. I am sure it will build itself as I go along, with the help of you fine folks of course! Da Kaptain
