| So I have seen some great looking miniature books made from card and balsa, but they seemed a little bit labor intensive for what I wanted to do. Looking to add some character to my Mord buildings I wanted to have some book lined shelves here and there. So while cutting up foam one night an inspiration hit me. let me know what you think? These are the WIP pictures, I will seal with PVA and paint them up. | |

| I just thought of a cool "mistake" that one could make. If you do the same procedure as intended but conveniently forget to seal some of the books with PVA prior to painitng, they may melt in a way that would resemble charred books. As long as the majority of the foam is protected and only small patches are left unprotected, I think you'd get a really cool effect. When I get some time, I may try this out.
Again, fantastic idea, HorndedRat.

| ANOTHER GREAT IDEA....to steal ! VERY CREATIVE use of/for the scrap materials from larger projects...making little accent pieces adds a lot to the atmosphere of a gaming board. VERY WELL DONE! | |

| Well didnt quite get them all painted up this weekend like I was hoping, mothers day and all. But here is a quick, super quick paint job on one set just to test out how they would look. I do plan to go back and clean it up / highlight etc. But I am satisfied with the way they look to crank out a few of them. Also, while I was cleaning out my desk I came across a pair of scissors, the type used for scrap booking. They create a decorative edge (Dont know the proper name) anyways. I cut a small piece of card with them, and it got me to thinking. So I added the pice to the side of a shelf. ...wala ...instant fancy furniture. I think I will be putting these to more use in the future. ** Edit ** Oh and to answer the question on how they were made. I just used a sharp blade, and a pencil to carve the details, and some fine sandpaper to smooth the cuts. The Cobblestone flooring you see isn't to hard to find online. Department 56 makes it along with some others. Normally it is sold in 4 1/2" x 36" rolls. But if you look hard enough you can find it in sheets approx 24" x 24" It is actaully what I used for the base of my gaming board. I have 6 pannels that are 2x2

| VERY NICE LOOKING! The scalloping on the book case is an EXCELLENT touch...I think that type of scissor is called pinking shears. With or without highlighting the books look TERRIFIC. WELL DONE! | |

Yeah I was thinking that also! Might have to give it a try. Yeah I know pinking shears are what they call the ones that have the triangular teeth, used typically but quilters etc. Wasn't sure these would be called the same thing. They do however have a wide variety of different patterns. I think I originally got a set to try and and make different types of roofing tiles. But never got around to it and forgot about them...
