| Haven't posted anything in a little bit, got sucked into a project over at TerraGenesis. Anyways I thought I would share as you guys might enjoy this also! I wanted to build something that wold compliment my pirates, so I choose a lighthouse. I intended this piece to be used on our harbor section. Its not as destroyed as I would have liked but I think it works out pretty well. It is still a WIP I have more detail to add but here are a few pictures of what it looks like right now. Let me know what you think, or if you have any suggestions! You can see all the WIP shots HERE . | |

| Very impressive! It's certainly not your typical lighthouse, but I think the scaffolds and stairways will make it a pleasure for gaming.
Does the light work? | |

| Ooooh! Nice! It seems to be perfectly playable too as you seem to have made sure that minis can be placed all throughout the stairs. Very good. | |

| That is VERY COOL! I LOVE the beacon light thingy, & the winding stairs...offers gaming possibilities with a closed structure. It's rather realistic fantasy. VERY IMAGINATIVE & WELL DONE! | |

| Impressive! Absolutely an eye catcher... It would make for a very cool objective building... It's not that hard to imagine one warband fighting it's way to the top to put out the light while the other desperately tries to defend the aformentioned light... Cool! - Quote :

| Wanted to post an update, since I have some down time. The comp is almost over, only 2 days left. to finish up and submit my project. So I will be posting the final painted pictures then. In the meantime to answer some questions. Currently there is no light installed, as the local radio shack was out of the right size LEDs I needed, but there is a hollow for the components to be added once I get them (they will have to be added in later) The light top itself is made up of found parts. A hose coupling is the base, then I found 2 night lights shaped as lantern I gutted them for the lantern shape and then glued the two halves together. For the bulb in the middle, a cap from an old lotion bottle completed the structure. The painting has been a bit of a challenge, as the rokcs in the front, and the stairs were not pre-painted (A mistake I will NEVER make again) but overall progress is coming along quite nicely. Here are some WIP painting shots. As always suggestions and critques are always welcome! The full series of WIP shots can be found HERE | |

| That REALLY is SPECTACULAR! I LOVE the dock... VERY WELL DONE! Walthers sells a strobe-like light for a rotating lighthouse effect ( www.walthers.com )...since it's for model railroaders it IS a bit pricey. | |

| I'm very glad to hear you have plans for a working light (though it's a shame it won't be installed in time for the competition).
It's looking fabulous - it would be quite the centrepiece for an incredible game (or 12).
Good luck with the finishing touches! | |

| Thank you for all the comments and praise!! I am glad you all like it. I do have to say, that I draw a great deal of inspiration from all the work you guys do here on Tom's! This project was a lot of fun to work on, I had been kicking around the idea of doing a lighthouse for my table for a while. I have submitted my entry, wish me luck! I still have plans to get the light working once I get my parts, and I have been kicking around the idea of doing a weathervane, or banner on top. But for now, here are some pics of my entry as she sits right now. More pictures, and the full WIP shots can be found on my Pbase Site. | |
