| I was wondering if anyone here knew a good cheap (free?) program to convert MS Word documents to PDF documents. I know open office can, but it causes havoc with my layout. Any thoughts? Edit: Oh and this is so I can release alittle something for Mordheim, so not entirely off topic Edit 2: And maybe I'll put it in the right forum | |

| Primo PDF is okay. Its a free download and it works like a print-driver. Once you have installed it you click Print and chose Primo PDF as the printer.
I think Adobe might do a plug in for Word that is available from Microsoft's website as well. I'm not sure if it's free...

| As long as your word is new go; file, save as, PDF or XPS otherwise just go to google "pdf converter" should bring up something I'd hope. |

| Depends on which OS you are using. If you have WinXP or Vista, you can download the freeware FreePDF. It works like virtual printer (see Primo PDF above) and is free. You will need to install ghostscript too (it's explained in the readme/installation process) Works perfectly for me. _________________ | |

Nearly perfectly for me. In ebook mode (low quality) Ghostscript crashes when trying to compress certain image types (was that PNG?). You probably won't encounter any problems unless you mess with the settings and try to achieve specific things. In general, it is great and does work great.

| Or you could just ditch that whole word thing, and make sure your stuff always looks spiffy as can be, by using Indesign! not that hard to learn, and guaranteed to have good results, and a lot of different options for saving as PDF, and great importing options (any type of file basically) and it will not screw up your layout... - yeah, I truly hate word... on a professional level... But if you don't feel like that, the options stated above are great indeed. | |

| you can download CutePDF thats good. It installs, and then writes as if you were printing.
