| Hey guys, I have always liked bretonnians in warhammer games and I recently discovered the unofficial bretonnian knights warband list. Now I have some question before I really setlle into playing them. First of all. Their stats are quit similair to mercenary's (even a litlle bit worse!) although they have the lady's curse special rule and the bretonnian special skill list. Is this worth it or should I stick with mercs? (bretonnians are cooler imo!). Second, I dont have any experience with mounts in mordheim whatsoever. I understand they only can be used outside of buildings and your character can mount/demount them at will. Can these horses be killed when they are demounted? And is it worth buying a horse for your heroes? Now even if horses arnt handy in mordheim games I really like the looks of a bretonnian army, strong fast (even on feet!) and noble (except the peasants). Now the help I really need. I need some cool heavy armored leggs for my demounted bretonnian heroes. I figured il just use men at arms and bowmen (or militia) to create the henchman. I already got some bretonnians at home so il use their heads and body's for the warband models I just need some cool arms and leggs who fit a noble knight. I prefer plastics but any help is welcome! Greetings Enarion | |

| The champion & standard bearer bodies from the men at arms & archer boxes should work perfectly fine with a head & arms from the knights.
Maybe make your errants like that, and grab something in metal for the questing knight?
As for horses in Mordheim, they certainly become more relevant if you take the action of of the City of the Damned. I don't have any practical experience though, so I'll leave it to those with more insight to point you to the relevant extra rules.
Btw, is there a newer version of this warband than the one in TC8?

| Not exactly what you're asking for, but nice questy feel: Juron, Mystic Knight Usually when starting a new warband, you'll want less armour on your miniatures, not more Oh, and remember that if you're really fluffy, you'll forego a lance on the questing knight even if you score a horse for him. According to current fluff, they give their lances up when going out on their quest for the holy grail. Insert repeated-to-death monty python reference of your choice here | |

| Ow what you see is what you get is COMPLETELY out of the question mate sorry I didnt notice. We dont do that bullcrap. It limits your models alot and its just a pain in the ass if you buy new stuff etc ^^ so the armor is not the prob, nice pic il keep the idea in mind | |

| MagnoliaFan did a Bretonnian Knight from a questing knight body and the legs of the bretonnian command. You can find him here. | |

| There are actually two sets of mounted rules you can use. The base mounted rules are the ones in the Mordheim core book and they're pretty simple. If you're feeling a little more hardcore, you can use the rules from the nemesis crown expansion, which are much more complete and include a special table for injuries, as well as a number of additional skills available to mounted warriors.
Having played an entirely mounted warband all Summer I can say that it's a mixed bag. According to the Nemesis crown rules, mounted warriors can only use one weapon instead of two, which makes them much less effective in close combat. Their injury table is also more serious than the regular one. for instance, a mounted warrior who goes out of action rolls a d6, and on a result of a 1-2 his horse must roll to see if it dies (like a henchman) and the warrior has to take two rolls on the serious injuries chart instead of one, post game. The upshot is that you'll always get the charge, and some of the mounted skills are pretty cool.
In the end, you should go with the warband that you like the look and idea of best. Don't sweat the rules, you'll have fun if you're using the models you love.

| Sage wisdom indeed from Mr.chair, its not just about the winning you have to enjoy the game and you'll enjoy it more when you love the minis you are playing with, but hopefully unlike me you won't cry when they die(personaly i think i jiust had a bit of dust in my eye but noone believes me on that) | |
