Warriors can usually "walk" over an obstacle of 1" without penalty.

How would you treat a situation where a player wishes to make his warrior climb through a window that's 1" from the ground and big enough to reasonably assume the warrior could squeeze through?

Just imagine a warrior is cornered and his only escape route would be to cluimb through a window...

Is this a) allowed? b) If yes, what rolls, if any, would you have to make?

Let's hear it folks, 'cos I might be needing some fast escaping in my next game, who knows... Smile

I would yes it is allowed, the warrior does not need to make any test(but of course he has to test if he jumps down etc)

And I would say the window should look as if the warrior could pass it, so an ogre should not be able to climb through a small kitchen window Very Happy

"Is this a) allowed? b) If yes, what rolls, if any, would you have to make?"

You forgot the c) Not allowed! So, Tom, I assume you voted yes...
Wink

I voted Yes as well. In your example, the window is 1'' from the ground so we should treat it as a simple obstacle of 1" height. That is, without taking any test.

However, if the window is located high over the ground (for example 4") and a warrior wishes to climb up and then enter through this window, then he should make the normal climbing test, as usual (ie the initiative test). He could then enter through the window normally (if the window is large enough of course!)

A) Yes
B)For simplicity I'd say no roll. However on perticular situation a initiative roll should be required:
-Jumping througt a window (entering or exiting the building via 2nd floor+)
-Running througt window? It's slightly harder than jumping over a fence..

I remember one game where one of my skaven jumped throught a window on 2nd floor to a house's roof across a small street (2'). My opponent asked 2 intiative test (1 for the 1 windows 1 for the gap, and I succeeded, viva l'initiativa de las skavens. cheers

¡Que gracioso, hombre!

Well I would say: YES, allowed, BUT initiative test needed. Because it is hard to squeeze through a window with all your battle gear on (sword, dagger, shield, armour...).

So it could very well happen that the escaping warrior gets stuck in the process, and is left at the mercy of his opponents who are then free to do with him as they please (e.g stick stuff up his ass, stabb him, set him on fire etc...)

lol! I'd say no test while normal moving, but test if running, just like JohnYoung said.
And a test if wearing heavy armour/shield.

I don't think it's very complex. You can easily remember it as you get -1 Movement if wearing heavy armour/shield, so their shouldn't be any problems. Same with running or normal movement.

I like it to be simple. There is SO much to remember in a game. The is so many game where we never made a single psychologic test, etc. I say it should takes a test always or not a all.

I would tend to agree with JohnYoung: let's try to keep the game rules simple. I prefer a game running smoothly with lots of fun rather than a game where we spend more time checking the rulebook than the battlefield...
So always Initiative test while passing through a window.

You're right about that, no doubt. So let's just say always test, I'm overvoted anyway
