Is there an updated rule set?

I'm getting the impression from joining this forum (yesterday) and starting to read some of the threads that there have been a lot of rules revisions!

My buddy and I are using rules books from "back in the day" - mine is a softcover I bought used from Amazon.

Is there an updated rule set that we shopuld be using?

Click on Mordheim resources and most of the material is available for down load and in there in the "errata" link is the one on the last rules review.

We are currently doing a rules review now.

All the rules revisions in the errata to which Da Bank referred you are great, and simple to implement.

From what I've been able to gather, house-ruling is pretty rampant--people seem to just change what they like. So don't feel the need to descend into 4+ page long discussions about changing spears (or lances, or halberds, or pit fighters...) unless you really want to.

You are definately going to want to download the main rulebook from the website. Many of the rules that change in that book are not featured in the rules review.

Of course, if you want to play from the old rule book there is nothing wrong with that. People played the game that way for years.

Am I mistaken, or is the rulebook as downloaded from Svenn and Tewfiks page already updated with the errata?

(I wanted to change my download by adding the errata, but they were already changed... though I'm unsure as to where I downloaded it from - thats what downloadfrenzies get you...)

The rulebook available from the GW site includes the errata from the Rules Review. However, not all of the changes that were done to the original rulebook, and which can be found incorporated in the current rulebook download, are also listed explicitly in the Rules Review file.

So while reading through the RR is good reminder of how to adjust the original rules you do miss a few things if you don't directly read the updated rulebook.

(I've seen this happen before, but can't exactly remember where... maybe something about newly recruited henchmen, which may no longer may purchase rare items for their equipment list?)
