mmmm... I thought the quality of resin was really going up the last couple of years ?
A guy like Mike McVey who's been in the industry since ... well, forever, choose resin and ... the other company escapes me ; it was mentioned in the female mini's thread

54 mm (20" or so) mini's also are resin ofter
I don't know if there much around with less quality. Maybe less detail on some mini's, but is that because of the resin, mold or sculptor ?
I remember the old Grendel stuff ; now there, there was a quality difference with the nowadays mini's

In the Fantasy stuff Reaper is about the only mini maker I know that is using lead. From what they've said, the P-65 minis will encompass most of their ranges eventually. Quite a few Historical minis are available in lead.
I've always found lead minis are MUCH easier to work with, especially for conversions.

The two new Dark Sword Babes are REALLY COOL...even with those God awful thick bases. The Assassin Chick would be an OH SO SEXY addition to the Mordheim scene.

think I like her paint job better than the actual mini ; her face doesn't seem quite right, her bossom is ok but the fact that her blouse "gapes" at 2 more places under it makes me think she used the wrong washing powder ...
but since i think black, flesh and red our the most difficult colours, I really like the paint work (although my red becomes satisfying, flesh reasonable, and black I'm still working on ....)

Fortunately the minis are not tied to the bases. At least not in the figure I have (painted here). As I place them on detailed resin bases this would be a hell of a work but you'd actually have to glue the figure on the stone base. Warlord Games on the other hand....

OH BABY! That is good news. The only Dark Sword minis I've done have that G.A. base as part of the mini, which necessitates a LOT of sawing, filing, AND an access to a range of expression normally only employed by long shoremen & sailors.

From what I've seen of your painted minis, you'd be selling your soul for a downgrade in ability. You've developed your own unique style...don't sell it short.
