| man ! I didn't know it was so hard to make a decent picture ! this is about the best I can do, although the shading/highlights/details didn't come out as good as they look to the naked eye... Oh well ... any feedback on how to improve my picture and/or painting quality is greatly appreciated here's the well known flamy head (just trying out some different angles ; these are about my first pic's ...) | |

| thanks Cianty just found your lessons to taking photo's I'm just trying out with the first buildings I made (guess they will be easier because they're not so tiny. I tried to make close ups of some faces, but didn't succeed) buildings are coming up next, but I must admit, I miscalculated the amount of time it all takes ! I've been planning on preparing some rackham mini's for the hybrid game since this morning, and haven't even got started yet ! This forum is worse than an addiction ! | |

| I think the most important things to bear in mind when taking photos is to - ...rest the camera. Maybe use books or whatever to place the camera in position. Holding it in your hand will rarely work - especially not with older cameras - ...use the "macro" mode (usually indicated by flower symbol), which is meant for close ups on small things. - ...never ever use flash. - ...use natural (ie. sun) light. It's crazy how different photos look depending on the light conditions. Maybe try moving the objects so light comes from the side, front etc and see what works best for your models. - pascal the rascal wrote:

| well, I've been experiementing some ... that's the reason I won't have done any painting today ! lol ! I noticed that placing the object near a window doesn't give a very good result strangely enough ... I think the pics of the buildings will be slightly better the uploading takes forever though ... next experiment will be with smaller pics ; maybe that helps :-) | |

| WELL DONE! The Forces of Holy Sigmar NEVER looked better...or more unhinged. VERY nice job on the faces; the Witch Hunter in particular looks EXCELLENT & VERY in charater. I don't recall ever seeing the Wench... COOL mini & nicely painted. Keep'em coming! | |

Yes, direct light isn't good. I'm still far from taking perfect pictures myself... - pascal the rascal wrote:

Definately resize the photos before uploading. If you upload a 2000 x 3000 pixels image, then servimg has to resize it automatically and that takes ages. Use some free software to resize it to no more than 800px width and uploading goes really fast.

| by the way, what do you think of my avatar ? I just LOVE that mini !!! Think it was from a german company ; payed it only about 2 euro ($) or less ... The paintjob isn't that terrific, but it must have been done about 15 years ago ... | |

| He he, that mini does look cool (except that I am not a fan of the notorious bare-breasted-booby-babes - but the sculpt sure is great). I don't think the paint job on that one looks so bad... especially the eyes look very clean. | |

| aha ! there we have a major different opinion ! I promised my wife I wouldn't buy any more figures for years now (since I probably won't ever be able to get everything painted in this life time), but every time I see a "booby babe", I can't resist. It all started with Rackham fiana's... There were times where I didn't buy anything else than female figures (topless or not). Probably since GW didn't have much females ... I remember their female dwarf lord that was pretty cool ... | |

| The figures look great! You've managed to bring out a lot of the expression in their faces, good job! I can't help but say it, though, something about that last Witch Hunter looks like Luke Wilson to me. I don't know what it is. | |

| thanks mate ! I found the goggles of the first skaven were not exactly she-bang, but ... hey, I'm still learning after all these years ! is your possessed somewhere to be viewed ? bought a box a couple of months ago ; the planning is ; finishing the last two witchhunters, then the 3 zealots from the box and finally some dogs then i'll have to hurry to get the rackham dudes finished in time, and then i'd like to start on the possessed (hopefully before the end of the year !) and then i would like to put all figures out of sight, to hopefully finish my buildings (see other tread ; wip : first self made buildings) i also bought some WH 40K witchhunters which i would like to ..... AAAAAAAAAARGGGGGGGGGGG !!! I need 15 years in a monastery ! | |

| NOW it becomes clear why Pendrake isn't wandering the Iron Kingdoms lately... he's on vacation in dear, old Mordheim. VERY NICE job on the good Doctor; he looks the part of a Witch Hunter...the glasses remind me of the Gestapo Guy from The Lost Arc. ALL VERY WELL DONE! | |

| Those paint jobs are excellent, I particularly like the attention to detail such as the swirls on the warpstones and the facial expressions.
An odd thing you do (along with many many other people) is that you paint the fire backwards. Which is fine since it looks a grand deal better, but really the lighter part should be at the inside part of the flame. Sorry to knit pick.
