Zujara's WIP Undead

Hey all, working on painting my undead gang for a campaign in a few weeks. Here is what I have done so far:


2 Zombies, who will be joined by a few more.


My Necromancer, Anthony. Friend suggested the name as a joke and it stuck.


My vampire who I have named The Jade Count for lack of a better name, using the Konrad von Carstein miniature


The gang so far...

To paint:
2 Dregs
2 Ghouls
2 Dire Wolves
3 Zombies
Anything else that looks awesome.

GREAT LOOKING MINIS I LOVE the way you did the Counts armor. All FINELY done!
I'm looking forward to the rest of the Band, especially the "anything that looks awesome" part. Keep up the EXCELLENT WORK!

And when cleaning my room I cam across some bits, so only seemed fitting to combine them. I suppose it's a mutant or something! Greenstuffed his hood, not very good with it but not going to get any better if I don't practice!

LOOKIN' DEAD!,er...GOOD! A FINE band of Living Impaired Lads there! It's always dangerous cleaning your room...there are thingys in there to set you off on untold modeling madness. Keep plugging along, Amigo!

Phew hard week, getting used to being back in classes! Stalled me a bit
but I am back with another update, getting close to seeing this warband
finished!

Then it's on to hired swords and potential members to add later on in
the campaign! Gotta think positive and assume I will expand! And thank you everyone for your comments!

They look great, I especially like what you did with the Count's armor!

Do you intend to use that mutant gobbo thingy as a dreg or a zombie, or was it just a "for fun" model?

It was a just for fun, though if I find the bits I would likely convert a Possessed warband and include him as a Mutant with a claw. It did give me some ideas for making a 3rd Dreg though, would really like to have 5 heroes starting out.

Edit: After some work tonight, I have made a dreg out of several different pieces! This poor guy has short scrawny legs and one arm slightly longer than the other!



Still some work to do on him, mostly tidying up at this point!

Dregs all painted up, dropping my Zombies down to 4 to make room for the 3rd!


That leaves just the Dire Wolves to paint up by the weekend and I am ready for the campaign.

VERY COOL looking Dregs; they add a touch of whimsy to the War Band...something I can identify with . WELL DONE!

I like your dregs! But why do you have to drop a zombie for the third dreg?

Thanks for the compliments! And to Horatius, my original warband only called for 2 Dregs since that was all I owned at the time so I needed the extra gc to hire the 3rd, thus a zombie had to go.

I really like your painting... All your figures look great I first didn't see your vampires head and when only looking at the picture I was wondering if it was some kind of goblin or what I might have to upgrade my glasses though

Now it's time to get to work on things such as additional members and hired swords!

Thanks DeafNala and Paluke, seems most my mates got lazy and I may be the only one to show up this weekend to have kept our pact of having everything painted

Now for the first of my hired swords, a Warlock!


I did this guy in a different technique from normal, everything but the metallics, gems and beard are painted entirely in washes over skull white. Was fairly easy and I am happy with how it turned out!

Wow I really want to get an empire wizard kit now. Also great paint job on those hounds, love the flesh.

Can you explain how you painted the purple robes with washes in more detail?

Sure, it's fairly simple to do.
1. Prime miniature white
2. Paint over the prime with Skull White
3. Wash the entire miniature with Badab Black
4. Dybrush the entire miniature with Skull white
5. Wash with Leviathan Purple
6. Do a second wash of Leviathan Purple

And that's it! The first 4 steps create sort of a grey coat on the miniature, with the white drybrush making the raised areas lighter. The skin was done in the same way, except with 1 wash of Ogryn Flesh. The crystal ball in his hand was 2 washes of Asurmen Blue and a few lines of Leviathan Purple.
