| Hey guys! I am helping out Cianty with painting some miniatures for the Gierburg project (a pretty cool tabletop game which he is currently developing). He has invited me to publish my work on the go on his awesome blog as a guest-author, and I have gladly accepted. I am cross-posting some of the miniatures I have painted here, since I think they make good "fantasy wargames" minis for this section and I think the more pics we have on TBMF, the better For more, please head over to Cianty's Tabletop Wargames Blog. Cheers! -Admin Tom _________________

This is Norris the Torturer and Scrote the Jailer, both from Heresy Miniatures. Cianty needed someone to pry confessions out of reluctant victims (*shudder*) and thus asked me to paint up this guy. Norris the Torturer Scrote the Jailer. If you survive an encounter with Norris in Gierburg, you'd probably get to meet Scrote. I hope you like them! Stay tuned for more mini-updates in the future! I think I can safely give so much away: there are more than a dozen miniatures, so expect some regular updating Cheers! -Admin Tom _________________

| COOL STUFF,Amigo! You have a way with subdued, subtle shades of color. The glowing Iron is an EXCELLENT bit of PURE artistry. I LOVE the Igor chic faces on these Lads... VERY COOL minis; VERY WELL DONE, as always ! Are these going to be the standard bases for the project? | |

Are these going to be the standard bases for the project? From what I gather, yes. They are 25mm. I don't know if Cianty is planning on having some models on bigger bases, but my guess is no. Gierburg is a "human" setting primarily as far as I know it. _________________

Tom is, of course, right. Gierburg is using 25mm round Flagstone bases from Fenris Games. Eventually I will see about casting my own resin bases like this, but until then we will go with the Fenris Games bases, which are absolute top quality. - Admin Tom wrote:

Well, guess who's first to see if there were any other minis used?

| Are they really 25mm? The round bases with the indented tops for Wyrd, War Machine, et al are 30mm, or so they say . I'm just asking in case the urge to send a surprise package to Bremen proves overwhelming. | |

| Yes, 25mm. It is indeed a little unconventional (30mm is more common). _________________ | |

It took me awhile to find proper 25mm round resin bases with a proper theme. I'm really happy with the Flagstone stone bases from Fenris Games. Still, I might try and cast some copplestone bases for Gierbrug some day. I think 25mm is enough for human models. In Warhammer you have 20mm square bases for 28mm figures. The ones we use for Gierburg are 28-32mm so 25mm bases look great on them. I don't understand why everyone seems to be using 30mm bases - they're huge. Plus, 25mm round bases mix great with my collection of historical miniatures (read Pirates).

| I agree; the 20mm bases are really too small, especially if you want to do anything other than simplistic scenicing. The 30mm are unnecesarily large; the area that can be sceniced is 25mm or slightly less & the remainder is the lip, which adds nothing to the appearance of the mini. To the best of my knowledge, such as it is, GW is the only one using the 20mm bases, but then they had all sorts of strange plastic bases way back when...old habits die hard. | |

| Very nice models, and you've painted them great as always! Gierburg project sounds very interesting... but Cianty, tell me, how can you find so much time for hobby? I wish I could do so much as you... | |

Ha ha! I think I am not doing as much as you may believe. I mean, Tom is already painting all my miniatures for Gierburg. I am mostly only doing scenery in the evening when I am in the mood and have the time. Plus some Gierburg rules writing now and then.

| Superb painting Tom, i love the subdued colours and prefer to use them myself as they tend to add a more realistic and grimy feel to things albeit mine don't turn out as cool as yours. i've been following the threads on Grieburg and it sounds dam exciting so far, Cianty you're a cruel man for making us all wait but i'm sure, like BTB, it will be worth the wait | |

| BEAUTIFUL WORK as always, Amigo! The subdued colors are not only attractive, but, from a historical perspective, appropriate. Such things as colors of fabrics allowable were subject to rigid control in the Holy Roman/Hapsburg Empire by class; ergo, common folk other than soldiers would tend to wear less flamboyant costumes. WELL DONE & stuff like that ! | |

| While I struggle to do my "Wanted: Dead or Whatever" posters in German, you, with a complete mastery of that mysterious language, have them in English; we are members of a strange species. That IS a BEAUTIFULLY BUCCOLIC scene. | |

| I bought that Jester with the hobby horse just before GW stopped selling him... I'm really glad I picked him up. Your miniatures are incredibly well painted. Very clean with a lot of expression in the faces. | |
