FKSN reenvisionizing the old warbands

I'm still playing with the warbands I painted back in '99-2001. These are by far the best stuff I've painted in that period, but still. I'd like to think I've learned a trick or two since then. So the plan is to start touching up, re-converting, repainting or replacing stuff so I can feel that I'm presenting the most mordheimy Mordheim I can, when introducing others to the Damned City.

Here's what I've got to work with:
Marienburgers
(All the metallics except the (wrong-team) captain are later additions.. probably from 2005)


Witch Hunters
(The Zealots were meant to get matching hammers.. I kinda dig the chair-leg look though)


Hired Swords
(Kislev Ranger is a Freebooter miniature, nobleman to the far right is from Warhammer Quest.. most of the rest are more recent paintjobs)


Lots of chipped paint, a few missing bits, and lots of 'left for later' detailing. A few notable exceptions - my pit fighter king and kislev ranger I'm pretty happy with.

Here's the results of tonight's toils - testing the waters for a a new direction for the Marienburgers, and foolishly giving myself a reason to not sell that Hochland Long Rifle my dudes found while exploring a few games back:
(Head and bare arm is from the flagellant in the stocks, rifle is built from a blunderbuss, a halberd, a zombie flag and a paperclip)


And of course, most of you have seen the beggar I slapped some paint on a few nights back:

Time to push this to the next level.

LOVE THE BACKGROUND in the photos! Minis look SO good in their natural surroundings. They're ALL exceptionally WELL DONE minis.
I'm glad you found an excuse to keep the Hochland Rifle; that is one Ubercool mini...EXCELLENT choice of colors. AND the Beggar ROCKS! VERY NICE STUFF!

Wicked! I love the Hochland-wielder! He is one of the best minis I've seen in ages! He looks like a total psycho, he's filthy, he's got huge gun and his face says 'f*** you, I'll shoot who I wanna shoot'.

i like them - the marienburgers are very authentic and 1999

Wow, the guy with the long rifle is awesome! The colours are really gritty and realistically looking, just the perfect Mordheim feeling.

The beggar is a Helldorado miniature. It's 1/3rd of the Damned Rank & File blister.

The central building is the merchant's house from Tabletop World. They've got some truly excellent building kits over there.. heartily recommended!

I'm not comfortable letting this old thread get this much action without some new pics.. but I don't have anything new to show on the miniatures front. So how about I show what's been taking so much time lately: Learning to make comics.

Here's a (not so) quick exercise in line of interest - same series of events, from 2 different perspectives.
It's not specifically Mordheim, but definately inspired

Here's a little tidbit to bring things back on track: An ugly flash-pic of my two possessed. They've got a magister and a mutant friend converted, but still missing paint.


I've got a bunch of Confrontation Behemoth orks I've been using in Mordheim as well.. but I might have to retire them before I can take any proper photos. Never have I had miniatures that scratches the paint as easily as these. It doesn't help things that they're huge and fall over constantly either. But I can't help myself, they're just soo cool

The Big Ugly Beasties are VERY COOL & IMAGINATIVE...falling over is just part of their charm. WELL DONE!

FKSN painted some stuff today but didn´t have a camera, so I took these.
