So I know what warbands are official, but what about equipment, hired swords and the like? When I used to play the orcs had just barely been added so all of these new rules are over whelming me. Also I see there are no more shadow warriors due to them being over powered, but has anyone seen a re-write? Anywho, please if someone can catch me up on all of the new literature I would be extremely grateful

Alex

There isn't. There have been rules that have been answered on the old SG forums (unfortunately, we lost them as they said the site was going to be saved and it was not) and we are starting over from scratch again.

Other than the last rules review there has been no significant update besides on the SG forum as noted.

We could come up with something.

That's kind of what I was worried about. I am collecting and painting all of the warbands my friends will be using to play the game since none have ever war gamed before. I want to get a collection of rules that allows for a lot of the freedom given with newer rules, but still keep them concise. They aren't going to look for new exotic hired swords for example, so I am just planning on collecting some models for them to choose from. I am having trouble though deciding where to draw the line.

Alex

PS Is it just me or do some of the BTB warbands seem really overpowered? (mainly the Liche!)

I'm sending people here--

https://boringmordheimforum.forumieren.com/mordheim-resources-f20/reference-the-watchtower-mordheim-rules-index-t816.htm

The code is secret so erase this message once you read it.
a=official
b=unofficial
c=experimental

1 is good. 3 is bad (?)

For equipment I think the Mordheimer has a master list. We use the equipment list for the campaign setting we are gaming with or when in Mordheim we use the main rule book, Opulent Goods and Ye Olde Curiosity Shoppe from TC #7.

Also find a message or post from SVENN and on his signature is a link a website that has all the Town Cryers and etc.

Overall, the game is solid. There are not major changes that need done. It has played well for many years.

We all have "house rules" for our games, even I do and I am the Answer MOD for Mordheim. LOL. Don't be afraid to put your spin on the game. Tuomas, the creator of Mordheim, noted that in the bounded rulebook on one of the last pages. Many people get hung up on that be he created the game to be adjusted according to your gaming group as no matter what you do with rules you can not cover all the bases.

I had never known that. It makes me want to consider some experimental rules rather than worrying too much about balance issues.

Actually, the code is as follows:

1a - official / 1b - unofficial / 1c - eperimental / 2 - reliable / 3 - draft

With the 1s being released by a GW related publication (I believe), 2 being fan rules of trusted sources, 3 being fan rules which do not look ridiculous on first glance, or something. For a more in-depth description of the grading system, you can read the article cianty pointed out in the introductory paragraph of that post.

Exactly. In a MTG forum I'd now say: "reading is tech". Wink Razz

I'm actually planning on going through all of the TCs and supplements that we have up and putting together a rulebook for our gaming group with anything we like as well as a few small house rules (some of the dual wielding/shield/armor stuff mainly). Once I finish that maybe I'll upload it for other people to use. Of course, the best thing to do is to just read over some of the optional rules and let your gaming group decide what they like and what they don't. It's really all about just having fun so just use whatever you like.
