o.k so call me greedy but 15 just isn't enough

So you've been playing with a warband for some time and you have the full 15 (16 for skaven) members, you've got cash in the bank and they're all tooled up, so as young Oliver once said "please sir can i have some more". Now i'm sure i read somewhere, i beleive it was in the Beastmen rules in a Town Cryer from many moons ago, that some buildings in your village can increase this number. Can any body shed some light on this for me as i don't consider greed a sin especially not if it involves more slaughter and blood shed

It's 20 models for Skaven, right?

Depending on your warband you can use a Halfling Cookbook and the Halfling Hired Sword for up to +2 models.

The "buildings rules" are from the Encampments I guess. They were published in Town Cryer. Have a look at the 'Watchtower' in the Articles forum so see which. I think the PDFs are also hosted on Svenn & Tewfik's Mordheim Blog.

How long do you play with each warband?

I think the buildings was for a single scenario with beastmen, not for campaigns? Not sure though

And yes, both Skaven and Lizardmen (unofficial) can have 20 members

Skaven get 20! dam i must have misread the rules, time to scower the sewers for more brave lads, as for Lizardmen i still haven't started one yet but its on the cards.
@lord siwoc i tend to play with a warband until a hero gains 90 experience tthen decide whether to shelve them or loose the hero and keep playing (some of my warbands have been fighting for years)

LOL, I have never had a hero make it to 90 experience.

A friend did though. A Black Skaven... and he had the artefact that allowed him to a) see through walls, b) move through walls, couple with a movement or 20+"... those were some weird and fun games...

Am I wrong, but isn't it so that the hired swords does NOT count to the maximum warband? This would mean that you could get the Halfling scout which gives you +1 member.... for a total of 17 ^_^

Are you allowed more than 1 hired sword? Technically your total members is Warband Max + 1 (from the Halfling cook), plus all the possible hired swords you could have for your warband. It's expensive, but possible?

Yes.

You can may more than one hired sword but they can not be the same.

To reflect their rarity,
you can only have one of each type
of Hired Sword in your warband.
You may not use the Leadership of
any of the Hired Swords for Rout

tests.

Hired Swords do not count towards your maximum warband size.
Hired Swords do not count towards the maximum
number of warriors or Heroes a warband may have on
its roster and don’t affect your income from selling
wyrdstone. However, Hired Swords do count as part
of the warband for purposes of Rout tests, etc whilst

in battle.

Cheers for all the help guys, and i've finaly found my answer on the last few pages of the ultimate rule book in the resources section of this forum, what a great piece of work it is too, it seems that using the encampment rules you can have a very large warband indeed, ooh time to go shopping for more minis

A question relevant to this thread: Does several Halfling's cookbooks stack? No?

I'd say you can have only one, but the rules don't say so. Is there a limit set in the errata?

I'm pretty sure it specifically says somewhere (I can't remember where) that additional halfling cookbooks do not allow you to have more members. I know it specifically says that about the halfling scout.

It does about the scout, but not about to cookbook. Should be somewhere though

If someone tried to put a halfling cookbook on each hero for 6 extra members I'd probably slap them.

Very clear. And it shows that a dying member carrying the book sucks
