DeathWatch Marines

Below are some pics of the truly awesome painted deathwatch marines which were done for me by Nala, now i see why Dabank and matt etc were all over excited upon getting their last chancers and house respectively from him.

Now once the rhinos are complete i'll feed him some crumbs as a job well done and set him to work on another evil, secret, sexy project of fun

It's the hanging light from GW's Cities of Death set plus some now exposed wires...silly Irishman.

Deafnala you have got some skills with a brush that's for sure. I'd still love to see come close ups if possible.
I like how your not afraid to throw in some bright colours here and there. Gives it a ton of character.

PS. I'm supposed to ask you about a certain wire frame tree you made. Would you give up the secrets how you did?

I'll see what I can do about getting up some photos & an explanation of how to do the trees. This involves mailing the discs to Admin. Tom, SO...it might take a little while [& a chocolate bribe ].

DaBank's Last Chancers are just brutally exquisite to watch. These models look awesome (even on the blurry pics) but I'm sure I would NEVER be able to fathom how really nice they truly are.

I tell you Deaf... you are a MASTER! Duce... you are a lucky man! Models look superb! I would not mind getting killed by these guys.

@DaBank: Actually I normally HATE painting Space Marines, the quality of the paint job in this instance was TOTALLY due to inspiration drawn from reading the Death Squad Rules & Battle Reports, AND my fondness for a certain Irish Loony.

Its one of the stone piller ends on a wall outside my room, though i do have a view to a proper tower from it

Deaf's work is truly impressive in person, thos epics do no justice and i cannot seem to ge tone i'm happy with showing how great they are.

Glad you enjoyed doing them though and if you want, i can send you a load of deathwatch fluff, some of the stuff is awesome, it makes the marines much cooler

If you like Deathwatch there's 2 novels as well, pretty kickass guys!

You have to be careful what you say around unpainted minis; until their ears are clogged up with paint, they pick up EVERYTHING that's said .

Actually what is considered a large number of minis is all relative...like incest . As someone with a background in Napoleonic War Games, I tend to think of "armies" in terms of 1,000 minis as starting to become a proper "army". SO...even Apocalyspe sized games look like skirmish games to moi.
AND I've been waiting a VERY, VERY LONG TIME for someone to commission me to paint up an Ork "army".

@Mordheimer: I haven't done any Nids YET, but they look to be a fun paint job. As masters of the absurd, Orks & especially Goblins ARE the natural clowns of 40K & fantasy; as such I can identify with them.

its called deathwatch, was done by 4 authors, one was townsend i believe.

Its awesome read of deathwatch and an Inq vs genestealer cult.

Has ultramarine, and space wol fin the mix, i can go get it and tell you more if want.

Well, I suppose Eldar ARE clownish; mostly though I picture them as hair dressers & interior decorators if only that tacky warfare was ALWAYS going on.

In "real life" the colors are a bit less garrish...a bit.
