Foot remakes his Warbands!

Digging this one out of the grave like i did with the painted thread alittle bit ago

Hi! Hello! been awhile since i've posted a WIP in these parts. Took abit of a break from the hobby and been sort of dabbling with it again the past couple of years. Mostly been posting over on Instagram and twitter, I feel its a very convenient way of posting and sharing these days atleast for me anyway haha.

Before I get on with the WIP pics i wanted to show my mercenary warband I finished up last year, you can find individual pictures and more finished things over in the gallery section  


I've been slowly working on three projects at the moment, a gang for Necromunda and two warbands for Mordheim. Two of which i'll be posting here for obvious reasons

First up will be a new Possessed warband i'm working on, acouple of them all finished up in the gallery post.



Secondly I restarted the Undead warband.

Oooh, really nice kitbashes there -- I do enjoy a game of 'Spot the Part', & they've been wonderfully combined here. I especially like the Possessed, which have a really horrible Blanch-illustration character to them... but then the Necromancer's great too, & very different from the traditional necromancer.

I like the vamire too -- it's a really good use of the model, the reposing works, & it's both imposing & expresses the aristocratic madness of the Von Carsteins. But I get the mixed feelings as well. It might just be something about the proportions, especially of the head to the oversized shoulders, which throws things off a little to my eye. What might work is using a larger space marine head to compensate for the up-scaling of the base miniature; possibly one with big hair to increase the impression, like the top left Space Wolf here:

Gorgeous work, all of them. Perhaps the issue with the vampire is that he's very chunky, and vampires are normally fairly slim?

Really nice conversions man! Especially love the mercenaries, how did you get the metal looking so dull and dark? It's a super cool effect!

The mutants are looking really nice too. Keep up the good work!

The new Necromunda and Black Fortress-minis really are a feast for every Mordheim-kitbasher out there. Already knowing what your one mutant looks painted up, I anticipate this warband to be purely awesome!

Thanks! The metal was done by drybrushing a dark silver over a black, then a slight brighter silver followed by black and brown washes then I just picked out afew details I wanted with the first silver

Yahhh have to agree, something about the scale on him looks off. I've figured aswell that the look of him while i like the mini dosent seem to fit the style of the warband, so i may have already started on a new Vampire XD

Update on the Ghoulies! Got them all finished up ready for painting

Wow! Those ghouls look really rather good.

These are not very big conversions but they work really really well. The ghouls are easily up to the standard of your mutants and other characters. Can't wait to see more of them painted!

The Ghoulish Guys look WONDERFUL for the added attention. They will be a treat to paint up I am sure. Have FUN with the Lads!

Those are great! Um, who makes them?

Unless I miss my mark, those ghouls are mostly Ur-Ghouls from GW's Blackstone Fortress, with bits of GW ghouls (such as some arms), & plenty of sculpted green-stuff. Though I'm struggling to place some of those heads...

Rhydderch and Grim have pretty much broken them down for you. Mostly made Ur-Ghouls from Blackstone, heads are indeed form the LotR Goblins.

Wow! Your work is absolutely top notch! I have the Blackstone Fortress game, and I LOVE the models, and since I know they are somewhat limited, I could not stomach using them for conversions, but heck, I would really like to!

SImply amazing, as well, the things you manage to do with the green stuff!

Goblin Town goblins, of course! I didn't recognise them as part of something good.
