What the Hell happened to the Mordheimer site?

is this true? it was nicley compiled, and sad it went.

Thanks for the heads up Cianty... instead of declaring the site dead (and all about it) he decided to tell me. BTW... YIKES GUYS!
The site has been down less than 24 hrs and you guys already declared it dead! LOL! "sad it went"... you guys are insane! Don't know how you guys paint anything... with that 'want it now' desperation!

I will take a look at this later today with the domain host. I'm at work, so I don't have my host's numbers with me. It seem a 'site redirect' or 'domain name/DNS' issue. If its that, it should be easily solved. I will keep you guys informed.

Hold on to your panties ladies... I will work on a fix and have everything back up soon.

The lack of updates plus the sudden disappearance made me assume that you just let it go. That and I didn't know how to contact you so I couldn't ask.

@Svenn: I have not updated the site because I work 'by necessity'. I created the site as a side-step, when I was learning how to play Mordheim. I needed a way to get organized. Then when my son was born I took a break, so the site stopped. Then I played 40k for some time, so the site stayed untouched. Then I moved... then I started working on Death Squads (40k Skirmish). Now I'm currently not working on anything except just playing 40k (I may pick up Apocalypse!) so I may update the site... I just need to find a quick way to do it. it is SOOOOOO BIIIIGGGGG!

Yeah, I understand. It's still the best Mordheim resource out there. I figured that life caught up with you and that's why it hadn't been updated.

Update the site: well, I'm currently working on an extreme, MASTER master equipment list, if that's any help.

It's a shame my handle is 'Styro', and not my buddy 'Master'. Then it could be 'Master's Master Master Equipment list.'

I'm an idiot... hehehehe... the domain expired.

It has been renewed (my $ donation to the Mordheim community... so enjoy it!) and it should be working now as normal. While the DNS replication may take up to 72 hours, in my experience it should be a few hours.

Few things... we all understand the full spirit of things.

1) Please remember that everything should remain free (its fan work for fans!) I would appreciate a note indicating this. This is to insure that no other BASTARD decides to try to sell the work. This work is meant to be free!

2) A little note to mention that you are also hosting the information from The Mordheimer's Information Centre to insure perpetual preservation of fan based material would do a great service to all those who allowed ME to host their material back in the days. Many of sites are now long gone, and their work continues to live on to help future Mordheim players.

I remember when I started compiling info... no matter how much I explained that my intention was to preserve much of the information (that was quickly vanishing) there were a couple of individuals that accused me of 'stealing' stuff... even when I had explicit permission to duplicate it. Many authors were relieved that someone wanted to keep their work alive as they had no intention to do so anymore. As it happens to many fan sites, once the author is no longer a fan they leave their site to fate (whatever happens happens) and it is just a matter of time until the site vanishes.

While I plan to keep my site to eternity (as long as I can keep investing the $20 per year), having backups is ALWAYS great! Thanks for your efforts and dedication. Someone, somewhere, someday will be VERY happy that you made your site!

People on Warsee and another German forum that I rarely visit also started whining immediately. Shows how many people still access the site with high frequency.

Ever thought about a PayPal donation button? I think you could easily get your 20$ back. I guess it would give GW even more reason to disapprove of you though...

I like that many have the intention to help... but I'm doing it for the community. MAYBE, just maybe, GW could take a lesson one day and become serious about supporting Mordheim. If they only understood that it is THE best method to teach newcomers about playing, collecting and painting.

One little questions, though... is that master scenario PDF still WIP, or rather on hold?

That project stopped because I ran out of volunteers back in the day. Still is the largest compilation of scenarios ever made and very useful. Of course, anyone willing to make a BETTER one is more than welcomed.
