Ostlander: Orge as Warband leader?

Hi there,
as stated in the topic: Is it possible to make my ogre hero (by lad's got talent) my warband leader after my Elder died? The ogre has Ld 7 like the rest of my heroes and would make a pretty nasty and durable leader.

is there not a rule excluding the ogre as being able to be made a leader? (I'm asking this more to make sure if my memory is right i remember seeing something, not 100% sure)

No, it's not written

Ya there is no rule excluding him form being the warband leader but he has to be the only hero alive or it will never happen because he only gets half the xp because he's slow on the uptake.

Hey guys, something to take note:

From the Town Cryer Annual 2002, page 45, Ostlander wb:
Slow witted: Although Ogres are capable of earning experience and bettering themsleves they are not the smartest of creatures. Ogres earn advances at half the rate of anyone else (ie, they must accrue twice as much experience as normal to get an advance).

So Ogre experience is NOT HALVED.
Ogres simply need DOUBLE experience to get an advance (it's clearly stated between parenthesis).

This means the Ostland Ogre has the same chances to become the wb leader as any other Hero (he still needs LGT).

The strange feeling an Ogre leader might convey is a different matter...
