| After taking the Humanmetrics test posted in this section I was curious about the professional interests of our members. |

| I REALLY had a hard time with this question. Let me explain: I've "earned" degrees in English Literature & Anthropology, neither of which have influenced my "professional" life. They have rather effected my perspective as to my World/Life view. I've worked as an artist/craftsman, a factory worker, sailor, soldier, museum naturalist, race car driver, writer, standup comedian, actor, computer operator, & probably a few other things that slip my mind. I would consider myself a poor example of a Renaissance Man, which would imply that an "All of the above" choice is needed in the list of interests. SO...since I'm currently supplimenting my disability income with my painting/modeling, I chose the Visual Arts, which, I suppose, comes the closest. | |

| I've studied history, art-direction, a bit of music, and some social directions (though as a side path) but... in this case I went with Art, as I want to continue in that direction... Noticed the art section is popular... maybe split it into smaller sections? - I'm in the visual one though! | |

| Where is computer science, since I wouldn't quite fit it with Engineering? I'm about to graduate with a programming degree (Game Programming Degree more specifically), and I work as a QA Tester at a game company... I can't imagine studying or doing anything else. | |

| I've voted 'Humanities', as history is a humanity, and when not described as such it normally mean either a) something invlolving Freemasons and/or Knights Templar or b) alot of Katanas and Bernard Cornewell. | |

| Actually, no worship at all. As an atheist it makes no difference to me, but what if there's a priest, or just someone who's devout or enjoys religion, on this forum? They might want to vote. | |

| Like Deafnala I have ticked several: I've always been interested in history and I read a lot, most of what I've been reading lately is historical fiction so I ticked History and Literature I'm a TaeKwon-Do Black Belt and instructor so I ticked Life Science: Biology, Ecology, etc. and Physical Science: Physics, Astronomy, Chemistry, etc. I have a degree in Fine Art so I ticked Arts: Visual, Auditory, etc. Professionally, I'm a Web Editor but I didn't know what to tick for that! | |

| Hi everybody, There seems to be a bit of confusion about the purpose of the poll. That's okay, because I didn't want the survey to be affected by my assumptions. You see, I had a hunch that a majority of our community studied or worked in math or science fields. I used the poll to test that hypothesis. While it is not a majority it is still a sizable portion. So the lack of religious or other specified interests just reveals the motive of the poll. Interesting Stuff! I was surprised by our forums educational diversity. It's definitely a treasure trove. |

| @UnderBheit : Ah, well that changes my votes somewhat. I studied Art, so you have to remove a vote for Life Sciences and Physical Science! I think the fact that you have allowed multiple answers means the result will be anything but scientific! - Chad wrote:

| Hmm. I went with Engineering. While not an Engineer myself, I work in the construction industry as the New Equipment Coordinator for a well known elevator company. Personally, I'd rather be an author (took Languages and Litterature in College), but with two kids, five pets, my wife who is a wonderful stay-at-home mom, being a Dreamer just wouldn't pay the mortgage. | |

As I wrote earlier, the purpose of the poll was to survey the number of members predisposed to science and math fields. I included the other fields for general interest and variety. I felt the question above the pole implied a single area of study , but either way you look at it, the study of martial arts is not related to physical science. But at least now I know why they have to print "Hot" on coffee. |

| I've got a degree which bares little relevance to most of my recent jobs. BSc Brewing and Distilling. I like to think of myself as a qualified drunk. | |

| I voted "Humanities". I've studied History of religions, linguistics and literature, and work as a teacher at what we in Sweden call a gymnasium, which means that my students are 16-19 years old, not that they wrestle or run around naked as would have been the case had it been ancient Greece. I teach Swedish, literature, religion (from a scientific point of view) and philosophy. I think Humanities kind of sums that up. BTW, I too would have expected more engineers/programmers et al - just shows how prejudiced I am, I guess. | |

| I would imagine that those folks who embrace fields of study that deal in immutable laws & clinical logic would be drawn to games like chess & Krieg Spiel which reflect their world view/philosophy. As War is an Art rather than a Science & games that try to simulate War in its actuallity would be appalling random to folk of such mind sets, Mordheim & such beasties would be more the realm of those with artistic/poetical/romantic natures. At least that's my take on the thing.
