Good Morning/ Good Night to you all (delete which is not appropriate to your time zone)
I still buy White Dwarf every month, its one of my regular delights and something I look forward to, even though the content I feel is ever so slowly getting less and less (or maybe Im mistaken)
I tend to read it on the loo....much to my wife's utter disgust, in fact at times if its a good book Im reading, I even start to get pins and needles in my legs and I think once I almost fell over (which isn't I imagine a good look for the next person to find me in the foetal position, daks (sorry that's Australian for undies, nickers, jocks e.t.c.) around my ankles and a painful look on my face)
Anyway I digress..
This particular issue I was reading had alot of content about the new 40K massive tanks and Titan walkers (or whatever they are called) which are all extremely cool models, but I imagine quite costly. I thought to myself what kid can afford to buy this stuff and it took me back to the days when basically all scenery and even some models had to be made by the gamer, unless of course you were cool with those crap cardboard buildings e.t.c.
I remembered that I had once made a steam tank from scratch which I decided to do after I saw on the net an Ork Killer Kan that someone had made from scratch for an orc 40K army which was awesome.
Here is what I made, its not the best but It does show that not everything needs to be bought from the Games Workshop, as you all know.
The beauty of mordheim is that almost everything except for the minatures, has to be built by the gamer, I feel it is what makes Mordheim one of my favourite all time things to emerge from GW.
Happy for your thoughts......
James
