Pistols and Bretonnia lady of the lake curse

If a model armed with a brace of pistol charge a bretonnian Knight the two hits with the pistols are subjected to the curse or not?
This because the charger use WS instead of BS.

The rule doesn't make mention of Ws or BS. It applies whenever a blackpowder weapon is fired. Pistols used in combat are still being fired, therefore my understanding is that the curse still takes effect.

Regardless, the intent was for blackpowder weapons. WS is chosen as they are shot in HTH and not in the shooting phase.
