The gates of Mordheim

The small shrine is a bit from the plastic tree set!
I worked some more on a wall section last night (I love how fast you get results with painting terrain ). I finished the stables section:




I also started on working on the last wall piece, a small gate (this isnt mordheims main gate). The top bit of the tower will be removable, so that if I want to use it for WFB a small regement can stand on the tower.

VERY NICE WORK! The wall & gate sections would serve nicely for either the Gaol or the Raven Barracks in the Southwest & Northwest Quarters respectively AND, of course, have MANY possible uses in WFB. It's INCREDIBLE to think that such a fine model began its life as a bit of packing material; the creative mind of the devoted modeler IS a WONDEROUS thing.

wait you mean to tell me the tree kit has more than just trees in it? Gotta love when GW gives you unnecessary flavorful bits!

I love how the walls are progressing, as many have said, it is the attention to detail that makes this not just another packing foam fortress.

I love the actual gate piece! I've got the Warhammer Fortress and have been thinking of converting it into a Mordheim piece. The door on the gate already broke itself a long time ago. :-P

Also, where did you get the little barrels?

@Svenn: The barrels are from a lot of things: Warhammersiege, the old metal giant, the empire cannon and the small ones are from the ogre leadbelchers!

I'm almost done with the project! I finished the collapsed wall and the ruined tower pieces. The gate section is also almost done (pictures comming soon I hope).

VERY NICE! The Chaos Shrine is especially cool if somewhat disturbing. WELL DONE, Amigo!

Reading Deafs response about the shrine being disturbing didn't make any sense to me at first. I saw the candles sitting up there in the tower and I just didn't get it. Then the final picture of the body on the floor finally loaded and suddenly the lightbulb in my head lit up. The details are incredible and agreed a bit disturbing.

Won't your cult be upset for revealing their secret rituals in a public forum like that Magnolia?? Only kidding of course

The top tower bit is removable, but I dont know for sure witch one I like better, with the tower or without.

For whatever it's worth [considering the source, not much ], I MOST DEFINITELY like the with-Tower better than the without-Tower; re, it looks imposing with the Tower as a fortification should. VERY NICE WORK!

I think I prefer it without tower, although with tower would be more fun for Mordhiem games and would probably look better with other buildings around.

I love the shrine, it has awesome details and give a nice eerie feeling to the piece... good work and I cant wait to see the finished gate...

Sooooo cool! I can't wait to see it finished.

That shrine is superb! The blood is just great, it actually looks like real blood (actually, it doesn't, I tried painting with blood before it does not work).

After a long time the gate is finaly finished (altough the top bit isnt painted yet.... but its playable now)

I also painted a set of walls and fences. For those all to important cover saves.

And a few years ago I got some lord of the rings terrain pieces and i also painted those (more cover!)

EXCELLENT WORK! REALLY looks good all painted up. The little bits of detailing make a FINE piece of terrain just that much better.
The fences, walls, & debris turned out nicely, AND seeking cover IS the essence of urban warfare. WELL DONE!

WHOLLY CRAPXORS That is freaking amazing! Keep up the amazing attention to detail. Props on the skaven in the sewer, the chair, swinging entrance doors, etc., etc. Really well done. I would love to play with that terrain.
