Hi.

After dooling a lot over all the excellent buildings posted in this forum, I think is time for me to post a couple of my works.

First a little ruined house

magokiron's buildings House_10

magokiron's buildings House_11

magokiron's buildings House_12

magokiron's buildings House_13

Spoiler:

Next, a stone bridge and stairs

magokiron's buildings Bridge10

magokiron's buildings Bridge11

Spoiler:

And some freestanding scenery:

magokiron's buildings Statue10

I'll post some more buildings asap, as I don't have a camera right now, but be prepared because I have 2 complete original Mordheim box buildings sets
Spoiler:
plus several other buildings I'm sure you'll find interesting.

Best wishes.

A great job here ! I like the first building a lot (and the witch hunter mini too Embarassed ), I just find them too clean for Mordheim, it lacks some dust, I want a dirty "Sigmar lives" !!! Very Happy

Wow. Looking great. How do you get the pieces to stick together when they're assembled.

Also a little picky detail: there would most likely be stone on the interior of that house where it is on the exterior.

I really like how you made the stone stair playable by undercutting the steps. While it may be less realistic, it doesn't stand out, and during a game stuff like that makes things much easier.

OH BABY! I KNEW, when you got around to posting your stuff, it would be appropriately MAGICAL! I LOVE the tiled floor in the little building. The bridge is a clever idea VERY nicely brought to life. AND all the little atmosphere piece are SO in character for Mordheim, yet have a certain style all their own.

Making everthing to fold flat is a BRILLIANTLY innovative idea. Thanks for posting & VERY WELL DONE! thumbsup

@ Lanyssa: You'r right, most surely I'll add
some "dirt" in the near future, but at the same time, this building is
right for playing, and sometimes "enough is enough" and I just star
another priject.

Identity wrote:

That's part of the fun, designing all the maths and ingeniery neccessary for each project.

Some buildings (soon to be posted) uses sliding slot joints, some simple elbow joints, some automatic folding support platforms...

I've devised several "hidden" ways to accomplish that. For example, with the little house, the floor holds by pressure (a near perfect fit with the surrounding walls), and as can be seen, there is a reccess for the door arch to fit with the exterior step.

The upper floor has some "canals" it fits into (and due to the way the wood planking is laid the cardboard back has a little flexibility to get in), and the stairs just fit into place.

Identity wrote:

Sure, but if I sculpt that, the building may not fold flat anymore.

In this case, I just have to go with funcionallity.

That's the idea.

I try to make a compromise of look/playability, but in the end, playability is by far more important.

Thank you Deaf. Yep, I'm a professional magician, so making this kind of things is pretty fun.

To all of you, thatnks for your kind words.

Best wishes.

Wholly Crap. That is absolutely ridiculous.

Props and Bravo. A perfect balance of playability, functionality and aesthetics. How did you sculpt those bricks on the little house anyway? Green stuff?

I still can't believe you got it to fold flat... *shakes head*

Not exactly GS, but yes, they were sculpted with a 2 part epoxi putty.

I have admired your buildings for so long, that your kind words are more than welcome and a great encouragement to continue posting some more of my ideas.

Thanks a lot.

Thanks to you all, and specially to DeafNala; your frienship and support are really inspiring.

I don't have a camera with me right now, and am planning to buy a new one next week, so I'll be posting some more pics in the near future.

I have made some successful experiments with silicone moulds and resin castings, to reproduce some utilitarian stuff like barrels, vases, boxes, luggage, gargoyles, and other things, to populate the streets of Mordheim (and other games too), and I'll post pics as soon as I have them.

Thanks again and best wishes.

Tnx Lydor.

That mini is a VERY OLD GW fig, originally designed and sold as a special caracter for the WARHAMMER QUEST dungeon dwelling game.

It was sold as a boxed set, with rule-booklet, cards, stats, counter, etc., although they released that same mini in blister form a couple of years later, but only as a limited run.

I didn't modify it, just painted it, and IMHO is one of the BEST minis GW has ever produced for WH, but is now sadly OOP, and not even in "collector's range".

The new witch hunters GW has produced (except a pair from the MORDHEIM RANGE) are really ugly, but I got my mini back then, along with the warhammer quest WARRIOR PRIEST (also the BEST gw HAS EVER PRODUCED), and a couple of other special characters; you may find pics of all the WARHAMMER QUEST metal range at "The Stuff of Legends" here:

http://www.solegends.com/citadel/index.htm

But it appears there are no entries for the WQ game.

Hope that helps.

Good stuuuuff Mago!

Incredibly neat. Also strikes me as very "playable" scenery, something I have always found difficult to make. I usually get carried away by my "artistic" vein, and completely forget about the fact that models need to actually stand in/on/under the scenery I am making.

The paintjob is perhaps a touch too light/perfect for my taste though.
