... since I last played Mordheim. Must've been 2002 or 2003 I reckon ...
But heh, where to start ?
Me (and my friends back then) first got into the GW Hobby back in 1992 with Space Hulk first edition, a wonderful game I still keep to this day. Soon we got into Warhammer 40k Rogue Trader and Warhammer 40k 2nd edition. When 40k became more well-known and more commercial we used to play it less and less often until we finaly stopped playing altogether in 1998 when the 3rd edition was released, due to aforementioned reasons but also due to personal reasons: most of us had allready moved away or were about to I guess. People grow up (thankfuly), study, find new job assignements, found families of their own ... you all know the deal.
When Mordheim was released it was sure to capture my attention, small skirmish battles in the WHFB setting (which I liked more tbh.), no need for enormous amounts of miniatures (which were way to expensive anyways) and the slightly roleplaying-like ascpects of progress and character improvement ? Count me in !
I used to play Mordheim then with a few pals, perhaps twice or so a month, focusing on my beloved Possessed and some Reiklanders. I also got a Carnival of Chaos Warband back then, but never assembled them because .... you know what is coming .... the gaming group dispersed again. Most of my dearest friends are scattered around the globe by now, and after I moved from the southernmost corner of Germany to the northernmost (90 km to danish border) last year it became nigh impossible to find any hobby partners where make my living now.
Good Fortune had it, that sometime around xmas I browsed my old Mordheim and GW books, surfed the net for a bit, and finaly found an active (!) community of Mordheim regulars ...
Well, the seed has been sown, the flames rekindled and perhaps I'll even manage to find an opponent or two via this forums. If not I'll sure have fun rebuilding a warband or two. I might at some time decide to finaly assmemble that Carnival but I'm tossing around a couple other ideas atm ... perhaps some zombie hordes are in order ... or some more mercenaries. We'll see.
That's all from me for now folks, I'll read y'all laters :-)
