| ALRIGHT! Bases, to my mind, ARE a vital part in making a mini with character, AND theses ARE excellent bases. VERY WELL DONE! | |

| Yet another gamer amazed by your bases here!
Might I ask what your paint scheme for them is, brown, drybrushed various gray shade obviously, but how did you make the cool wyrdstone glow (not on the sewer sludge but the pebbles)? Is is a wash?

Your guess is right on! I actually wrote down the process, lest I forget: undercoat black "random" splotches of watered down ~90:10 bubonic brown & dark angels green around the stones heavy drybrush of elf gray & chaos black, mixed to a medium gray (i don't own a medium gray) more splotches of watered down ~60:40 dark angels green/bub brown, this time focused only on areas with pebbles and in some cracks drybrush elf gray for the sewer grate base i added a final step: watered down scorp green around pebbles

| So I've added some paint to the newest bases. Still haven't finished the water (sewage?) on them though. Also, the paint I was going to use for the pipes is not presently in my possession, so those will have to wait. Here's a sneak peak of how one of those bases is going to be utilized: Finally, here are some models which have been sitting around for ages. If I post them here, perhaps it'll motivate me to finish them. From left to right we have Ostlander with long rifle, Bounty Hunter hired sword, and Ostlander hero. I've been meaning to post some lizards for a while as they are my principle band, and they are also included in the title of this thread. All my lizzies are in the process of getting rebased (principle reason I haven't posted any) so that they wont look out of place in either Mordheim or Lustria. I've tried three different test bases and so far none of them are satisfactory. My current warband is composed entirely of 4th edition models, but I just bought the 7th edition battalion box, so watch for progress on some new models here (and bug me if time passes and you still see none). | |

| Somehow the Rat Guy coming out of the Sewer seems SO in character. The Ostlanders look good; the Bounty Hunter is REALLY armed to the teeth; VERY COOL! How do you like the new Lizard Lads? I may be doing some on commission. | |

Haha, he's still missing a rope & hook among other gear. - DeafNala wrote:

Of the new models, I only have the temple guard, but I really love them. They're perfect for mordheim as they have a lot of bits to customize with. Their heads also have some character and customization possibilities, something the lizards have desperately needed for a long time. I've seen the steggie kit, and it is superb as well. Although I don't like how fat and squat the model is, the sheer number of bits and conversion possibilities provided by the kit make it more than worthwhile. I hope you end up doing the commission, cause I'd love to see your take on the creatures. I'm doing what some others have done, mounting my saurus on the new Dark Elf cold ones instead of the included mounts. The new cold ones look incredibly fierce, unlike the lizardmen cold ones which just look (appropriately) dim-witted. Edit: typo fix

| Well it's been well over a year since I posted here last. My main Mordheim opponent just got back to the country after being long gone, so I spent some time over Christmas break pulling out the tools and paint. I didn't get far, but I nearly finished one model (who doesn't even have legs). The guy on the left just needs some work on his eyes, the sling, and the dagger hilt. Oh, and I gotta fill in the base. The others... well, I hope to make some progress on them. I've got some fun lizardmen conversions planned, as well as a beggar hired sword. Lets hope I'm able to put in the time to complete them. I still have heaps of prior models that need paint on them too. Later this week when I get back to LA I'll give a proper update with better pictures and plans. | |
