| Edit: I realize that over time I'm likely to come up with many modelling related questions, so I'll keep them in (this) one thread.Ok, so I've recently fallen in love with the weapon this model is wielding, and I'm wondering if anyone knows of where it's from or where a similar looking one might be procured. I'm interested in the part from the hilt to the blade tip obviously. At present, I only trust my green stuff skills to make fur and cobblestones, so making the weapon is not an option for me. Any comments which get my saurus one step closer to wielding this fine weapon will be appreciated. I think the default lizardmen weapons are rather awful, especially the spikey blocks which many of the best heroes and kroxigor wield.

| It looks to me pretty much as an old, old, old HeroQuest game sword.
Irrc, it's a goblin's sword.
And if it's not, it may be close enough for your needs.
Hope that helps. | |

| There is a possibility that it might be a Reaper War Lord Reptus weapon, or at least, they have ones that are similar. This isn't the best of examples, but you get the idea. That BTW is a GORGEOUS mini. | |

| I guess the skull is from the old skeleton sprue (the beastmen skull), the end of the spear looks like a mace bit from the bretonnion men-at-arms/bowmen sprue (its a mace+pauch bit), the blade is some sort of elven sword with two spikes from the dark eldar sprue (the pointy bits) and the skin/fur on the shaft is greenstuff I guess. | |

| Thanks for all the great ideas. I did look into high elf weaponry, but I didn't think to check goblin or eldar blades (or any other 40K for that matter). That reptus weapon looks like it has potential, but sadly I'd have to get the whole mini.
Drugart - yeah, there are a bunch of new lizardmen being released, and from what i've seen so far the models look amazing. Unfortunately, the weapons they're carrying are, for the most part, more of the spikey blocks which I am not a big fan of. | |

| Ok, so I found a sufficiently impressive spear for my cold one rider: - Spoiler:
I plan to get rid of the skull eyes part.
Unfortunately, I currently only have one, and I will eventually need another for the model's on-foot counterpart. As far as modeling questions go, I found a rat ogre on CMON with an amazing spit effect in its mouth. Anyone have good ideas for how to replicate it? I'd imagine any number of clear epoxy/air hardening materials would work, but if you have any personal experience using them on models for visual effect (as opposed to functional), I'd like to hear about it. - Spoiler:
I also found this amazing varghulf conversion on ebay, and was wondering what possible materials could be used for that blood effect? Might be similar to the above. I imagine it's some fun substance over a piece of wire.

| I've gotten good results on the blood/gore thingy using A+B Epoxy Paste [a plumbining product]. It's not really a great adhesive & is used mostly as a filler; for modeling, it can be "teased" out to make hair, flames, or drippy, gory gouts of blood that look, while a bit exaggerated, quite pleasingly gross & disgusting. | |

| I played around with a cheap old gluestick as per recommendation of an old WD yesterday and it will definetly hold up to your salivating needs, rip of a dab of it and fix it and just stress the hell out of it with a finger or a tool until its almost set/you have the effect you want then just 'ardcoat it (or whatever varnish you have/need to complete the effect.) and paint it up if you want a gore-esque effect. but do try it out first as it might not dry clear. on the ruptured intestinal cavity I'd go for the epoxy like DeafNala said as it gives a wider range of structural integrity (a spittle string wont get as affected by transportation as an extroverted effect like that on the varghulf) and can be found in a wider variety of colours and opacity. | |

| Another searching-for-this-weapon post. I stumbled across this image someplace, and I'm wondering where the sword is from. Anyone seen it before? It looks like something that might have been on an orc model, but I've been unable to locate it. I'm hopefully getting back into modeling, and that sword would be perfect for one of my saurus heroes. | |

| the handle looks a bit like a kroot gun barrel and the blade looks like it's been made from plasticard or a bit of sprue | |
