| Hey guys! Because I am so thrilled about it, I just wanted to shout out that I got a pretty cool showcase for Xmas to put my minis in! Now they don't have to rot at the bottom of shoe boxes filled with toilet paper and/or in army suitcases with scratchy foam inlays anymore. YAY! Here are a few pics! (You'll notice many minis are unfinished but my Mordheim Stuff is the only one that I finished to the last miniature - Hired swords and all... you have to set yourself priorities in life ) Hope you like it! From top to bottom: - 1000 pts Dark Elves - On the left: A little bit of AT43 Red Blok repainted (namely: 1 Hetman (Urod), 3 Spetznatz Kolossus, 14 Krasnye Soldaty). On the right: My Possessed & My Witch Hunters (my 2 most played warbands). - MANY points of Wood Elves. I think something in the vicinity of 4000-5000 if I fielded all at once, which has (and probably will) never happened. This is my "Deaf Nala" shelf (because Deaf helped me out a LOT when collecting this army. You cannot be thanked enough my friend ) - ~2500 pts Bretonia What's missing in the showcase: - My girlfriend's Pink Orc warband (will be added soon) - All my other Mordheim warbands (6 in total) which will be cycled through. - My old Eldar and Ravenwing 40K armies that I have not used for almost a decade. If you got some cool hobby-related presents that you want to tell everyone about please feel free to post about them in this thread. Here's one of the few spots where you won't be blamed for your (our) geekiness Merry Xmas! Admin Tom _________________

| Wow that makes the dusty book case I use look like crap. I got a box of Ghouls for christmas from my girlfriend. But that was the only Mordheim related thing I got. | |

| Very nice Mr Tom. A good display case makes things look great. Just be sure to dust/clean it regularly. I don't have the space for a nice cabinet like that. Plus I'm a clumsy lummox so would probably smash the glass. | |

| That is just SO cool! A REALLY nice display cabinet has been on my dream list, along with sailing the South Seas & flying under my own power, for MANY years. I rejoice in your good fortune, mein Freund! | |

I got an UBERCOOL Reaper Gnome Bard from a certain Austrian Philanthropist/Patron of the Arts. Now I've just GOT to build a War Band around the little guy. The Christmas stocking ALSO had a gift card to my ABSOLUTE favorite Craft Store. OH BABY, an Unsocks Christmas! BTW rotating you collection of WONDERS through the display case periodically IS a great idea; i.e., it keeps the display EVER fresh & interesting.

| Well to be truthful, I did the cut/paste routine from the Reaper catalog to show off the mini, which I LOVE. The Demon Camera from HELL bit me [the batteries chose that exact moment to die ] when I tried to get a photo of the finished mini. | |

"Great minds" DeafNala. To this day I still dream of self sustained flight and hobby showcases. Tom, you are a lucky man. (tears) The only GW related gift I received was a subscription to White Dwarf. Although that was the one of the more thoughtful gifts of the day. |

Thanks Drugart! Well, you know, I did watch out, I didn't cry or pout, Santa made a list, he checked it twice, he found out who was naughty and nice and it kind of went from there Actually the assembly was pretty tough. I had to drill holes into the wall and tether the whole thing to it with screws driven into those holes, to make sure the showcase does not fall over! (it is very tall, much taller than seen on the pic --> 4m). Imagine the catastrophe if that thing came down... Better be safe than sorry. _________________

(only 1.5m filled with minis, the rest is books) Anyhow. My dep is only 2.30 high. And such a big thing won't pass thru the stairs anyway. I'm planning to buid some kind of showcase for displaying my minis too, but the measures I'm thinking of are 2.20mhigh, .80m wide, .20 or .25m deep, with cristal sliding doors. Hope to have it in a couple months.

As soon as it is constructed. I have the general idea, but need to buy materials and actually commit myself to building it.
