| I liked this thread before even seeing the content, just from reading the title, but now that I see these pics.. wow. Those trees are disturbingly beautiful! A couple of sections of these plus one or two swamps and you have an awesome gaming table. And really want to see the tower WIP!
You know, this is really touching for me. Seeing how our work inspires others to come up with awesome projects is just amazing.
Thanks!
And keep us posted! | |

| NICE, TWISTED TREES! I like trees that have an attiude. You've got a healthy dose of SINISTER in the flora. WELL DONE! | |

| is that paper masché? If so, that's a great idea i've never seen used for trees. I've seen wire wrapped in tape, sculpted putty and real twigs but never paper maché.
They look very twisted and fit the BtB setting perfectly.

| Yep paper mache it is on a wire frame .... i blended the paper mache with a bar mix/stick blender so it was more like a paste .... trying to fine tune the process.. here's my watchtower WIP .... ran out of gap filler today .... the main body is just a pot plant (why isn't it a plant pot????? theres no plant in it anymore!!!!) going to build a room on top so it will be a little higher the diametre not including the ramp at the back is about 11 inches ... the BtB scenario says about 10 ... will that effect game play much??? | |

| VERY NICE! Cianty IS going to LOVE this sucker! Clever use of of the plantless pot; after doing this stuff for awhile now, I've notice I look at the shape of things & their potential for things that they weren't intended to be used for; its GOOD to find a kindred spirit. The roof AND the rock formation base ARE REALLY well done. This has a LOT of potential. It will be COOL watching it evolve. SO get cracking, man! | |

Oh yes indeed! And what a wonderful conversion idea. Simple and effective. I am very impressed. - crowbeard wrote:

I'd really love to see the ramp! Are you hiding it because it's not yet finished? - crowbeard wrote:

Don't worry. Please, don't worry! These are just suggestions based on what has worked for us. It doesn't matter if it's a little smaller and it sure isn't bad if it's bigger (the bigger the better - size does matter )! My tower is 11" also. What is important is that you have a playable area that counts as "within the tower" so that the warbands can fight for control of it. Since you are probably lacking multiple levels I guess it would make sense to declare the ramp as "within the tower". Maybe it encourages you if I tell you that there are two scenario's revolving around such a tower so you can re-use it in one of the special scenarios (yet to come). Again, awesome idea! I'm really really looking forward to seeing this painted!

| heres the "watchy" part of the tower started and some tilling ... personally i think the tiles amplify the symmetrical inaccuracies of the roof .....fortunately its hard to tell by the photo ... the roof isn't going to be attached and for game purposes the middle level ( entirely inclosed) could be represented off the board ..."gasp shock horror!" ...3 inches between levels from designated points ... the door being the most obvious !........except i haven't built the door yet so it's a little more inconspicous rather than obvious! and thanks for all the quidos people (or is that qudos???)

| Asymetrical or not, the tiled roof IS beautiful. Using floor plans for the enclosed area is a terrific way of fully utilizing an otherwise ungames-worthy structure. AND the floor plan DOESN'T necessarily HAVE to be two dimensional. VERY COOL STUFF! | |

| Kudos indeed!! ... here is your first glimpse of the so far succesfully obsfucated ramp ... next stage painting... the "watchy part" was made out of cardboard and kinda lame so i'm going to semi - complete this piece and move onto the swampy stilt houses .... | |

| couple of pics of the WIP stilt house prototype..... a royal pain in the (....) to make so far ... if it turns out ok then i don't mind .... its hard to tell sometimes as you can see its still got the rubber bands holding it while it drys its quite small but the idea is to place them in the swamp and connect them via walkways (not fixed ) | |

The Scions of Chaos (Marauders, Beastmen, Norse, etc..) are going to lay siege to the Cathayan bordertown. That's like the highlight of the campaign with all warbands participating in the battle. You'll need something to represent the city walls, so creating a couple of wall section and maybe buildings or watchtowers that fit into the walls would be a good idea. If you haven't seen it already, I did something like that in this thread. If you have the Warhammer Fortress then you can easily use that to represent the walls (at best if they are not glued together so you can position them like a great wall). - crowbeard wrote:

Cool! Which warbands are you planning to include?
