Those are great! I never thought of making a halfling out of the mercenary bits. Why would you make rules for the rocketman when they already exist?

PRETTY COOL STUFF & VERY imaginative! The Halfing in particular is a VERY CLEVER idea...consider it stolen . Keep up the GOOD WORK!

well time for a update.

i chose to paint the jester red and cream.
heres some pics.






i will use lots of delvan mud. and lots of bright colours.

things i am going to make.

another jester which is riding a hobby horse.
a gladiator pit fighter.
a ogre.
a bard.
a bounty hunter.
elf ranger.
a freelance.

and perhaps some more.

Oooh... promising indeed.

Devlan mud and bright colours could be your best friend. Just be sure to get a good nice even layer of paint on. Perhaps water down and then several layers, to keep it good.

thank lord siwoc. i will make sure i paint him properly. seeing as he is my favorite hired sword.

i will try to do more work on them tomorrow.

I REALLY like the idea of doing up ALL the hired swords...YET ANOTHER project to add to the list . NICE START on the Jester! This is one of those minis you can go ABSOLUTELY NUTS with the colors & STILL have it look right. Have FUN!

i am not sure on the colours.

i like the idea of making all of the hired swords.
i ordered a few parts (about 25 pounds worth of bitz)
so i will start to make some pit fighters soon. has any one here heard of a game called fable? because i am working on something from the game that involves your captain and many creatures and pit fighters.

I really like your stuff although some things are really hard to see... if you put your model on a white piece of paper when you take the picture they will be much better visible...

NOT BAD AT ALL! A suggestion on the eyes: start by painting the eye socket black; then do the center in white, leaving a border of black; once the white is dry, do a line from top to bottom toward the center of the white...you'll avoid the wild, staring look. The Fish device is COOL. Keep up the GOOD WORK!

i tried to do that but he ended up looking like a looney. so i try that on a saner model

I dig the skull poison bottle (that's what that is on the jester's hip, right?) that's a cool idea.

Cool looking figures! I'm impressed at how seemless the GS looks on your jester, all painted up. Especially the shoes - nice work!

If I can offer one bit of advice, it's for painting yellows. Yellow almost never turns up well on a black undercoat, so I almost always try to paint spots that are going to be yellow in white first, to give it a good base. That way it will look less uneven.

Great job all 'round, I'm excited to see more hired swords!

sorry hero i missed your post. its soposed to be one of these sticks jesters wave around with bells on but a friend accidentialy broke the bells off and i forgot to redo them

yhe head is tho one from the flagelants sprue, that has a cage like thing on it, i cut the hair off and used the spikes of empire militia halbards

The idea of halberd spikes applied onto the mask deserves respect!
It seems a very cruel pit fighter

That may be your best piece thus far; he looks much more approriate for the Mordheim setting than the Romanesque minis from GW. WELL DONE!

I have to agree with Deaf! I think that that guy could be the head pit fighter for your new pit fighter warband.. what your not making one you say... I beg the differ, you just made the head Honcho!
