| I simply make photos to remember which colors I used. These two work well for blodshot eyes: Here is our little O&G warband in all its glory. (Bases and Orcs = WIP). I used totally different techniques for the Orcs vs. the rest, and will maybe completely replace the Orcs to a) get WYSIWYG, b) get the correct base sizes and c) make them look like the gobos. Speaking of which, they are very light/bright colored, and I am still undecided whether I shall tone them down or lighten the Orcs up. There is such thing as a too dark mini - I almost lost some of them in our last Mordheim game (where almost every piece of scenery and the base mat are very black + the lightning was low as well): Action shot: The crazy 44 (well, you know, they're not really numbering 44, but it just sounds cooler. And yes, those *are* mold lines sticking out there. Bases will receive dead grass and some more drybrushing): | |

| Isn't it annoying that mold lines ONLY stand out noticeably AFTER the mini is painted. When the line shows up on flesh areas, I tend to try & make it look like a vein or a scar. This DOESN'T, of course, work very well with armor & such. That aside, the lads look REALLY good. They are individually nice pieces & the overall feel is VERY effective. WELL DONE, Amigo! | |

Great minds etc...on armour I just say it's the mold line from where the armour was cast lol (I do realise that armour isn't cast) but you might just be able to get away with it with orcs...

| Orc armour is probably cast from spit, squashed-squig and dung! | |

I got started painting in the mid '60s, &, to be frank, most of the affordable minis were VERY poor castings [read crap ] with rather non-descript detailing. SO...I got used to paiting lumps to look like they belonged. @chad: SSSH! Yuz is gifing a way da SECRET Formula Thingy.

| New shaman WIP (base + jewelry is missing, rest is considered finished): The blacklining (or rather, brownlining) didn't work out so well. Well, lesson learned. | |

| The Shaman is progressing VERY nicely. This IS going to be a fine looking mini when you're done with the little extra things & the base, AND a GREAT addtition to the War Band. Keep up the good work. | |

| Did I ever mention that the warband got a new boss recently? Nobody knows what makes him so strong; rumour has it that the half-dead harpy-on-a-stick has a brain link to the Orc. Some of the lesser gobos lovingly called them "Master-Blaster", but found out the hard way that whatever new intellect rules this guys, it is not prone to humour. (And yes, before anyone else can point it out, the yellow dots are unfinished gold-to-be. ) | |

| COOL MINI! The new Boss is looking GOOD. The background fluff adds a LOT to the mini. Keep up the SPLENDID WORK! | |

He is from Confrontation, the Orcs of Bran-o-Kar. - Ashton wrote:

Aye, it is extremely light, I like it as well. Didn't get much sun... or maybe too much? Takes a bit of getting used to... I may touch them up at some time and make them darker (I paint on white foundations), but not before everything else is done (base, gold etc).

| I have not painted in many months now, but we have, at last, gotten our BTB campaign underway. Here are some pictures from the some of the sessions: 1st album - Skaven vs. Orcs; excuse the German comments and the mediocre image quality. 2nd album - Ogres vs. Orcs; some unrelated 40K pictures mixed in. The merchant caravan is indeed joining my Orcs due to the campaign, they are in for a hell of a ride. New camera and a vintage flash = acceptable image quality. 3rd album - Ogres vs. Skaven vs. Orcs (multiplayer) | |
