GOLDEN TOM 2014 – RESULTS

Dear TBMF members! We are honored and thrilled to announce the winners of the GOLDEN TOM 2014 painting competition.

Determining a winner has been a very difficult process and I for one wished we had more than 3 trophies. It is after nerve wrecking deliberation and a few ballot changes that the jury has determined the three winners.

Each of them will receive:

1) sent by post the brand new and exclusive GT2014 TROPHY (see here) cast in bronze by our very own floedebolle. Please contact Admin Tom (me) with your shipping address (and please be patient as we get your trophies ready for shipping).

2) A winner icon to proudly display in their profile on TBMF (along with boasting rights)

I want to thank EVERYONE who has participated in GT2014. Saying it was pleasure to marvel at your works would be an understatement. In particular I want to acknowledge those who have entered knowing that the competition would be tough and still gave their very best.

I'm totally and utterly flabberghasted @ overburns' entry. There's sooooo many nifty little details you don't see at first, but entirely finish the fig.

Overburn, you deserve the crown, very high standard of painting and true to the Mordheim-spirit. I just hope you did some WIP-shots along the way? The spiderwebs maybe? And will you post Marianna on CMON?

Just what al said, thanks to everyone, was a pleasure to be a judge! Well, on to this years GT, or what?!

Superb stuff! Some serious skill and commitment on display here. I almost wish I had entered one of my latest minis, just to be able to say I were in the same competition as you guys!

I do hope we get to see all the entries. Congratulations to the winners and to all who entered.

Yay, I'm a winner! Congrats on great work to everyone who entered! Lots of usernames that I don't recognize, so hopefully we'll be seeing more great painting and modelling work on the forum here. From the runner ups I especially love Katsuhiko JiNNai's return to old school Realm of Chaos days color scheming, and Kurgan's take on what is presumably an orcish Johann the Knife. And of course another vote for overburn to tell us how the spiderwebs were done!

The skavenblight's miniature seem really fine,  but the pictures are blurry  

Wow, such great entries! Mine was nowhere near the quality, but as was said before this was most excellent into getting back into the hobby! I painted up a lovely Rat Ogre, and then through the wonder of all that is typical Mordheim he arrived on the other side of the board from my general in the surprise attack scenario, and managed to drool himself forward 3" the entire game.

But big congrats to the winners, those were beautiful models and such great inspiration!

Also a big shout out to my daughter Countessa Philomena, who not only painted a lovely pink giantess, but managed to use her to win Mordheim five times in one game with the Queen of All Mordheims laser gauntlets. My Skaven stood no chance.

You all did a great Job. In my opinion the winner from overburn is an absolute breathtaking paintjob. The freehands and brokat imitation is unbelievable. I hope you, dear overburn, will visit this forum in future and share more of your art.

Dear madame/ sir I admire your artistic skills.

I also love the other mentioned miniatures, but Grimsculls witch hunter with zombie on chain is for me the one with the most Mordheim character and is my personal number two choice.

My personal number three is the troll from Morgoth, just a little bit before the rat ogre, the noisy assasin and Bertha Bestraufung.

Please understand me correctly i do not want to critisize the choices made, because for me are the differences between places 2, 3 and the runner ups are very small. I only want to give all the artist f the entries a very positive feedback about their great work done.
