| The hovels are springing up like...mushrooms... The Hood looks like a great place to adventure, especially if you don't worry too much about your character's safety. My favorite at the moment is the 'srooms in the window box. | |

| Thanks, Jim. I took a cue from theomar & his lovely flower boxes...somehow mushrooms seemed more in tune with Goblin tastes. | |

| Thanks, Ben. The LITTLE Digs are a very nice size for knocking out some cool buildings in no time at all. | |

| I have to write here too that the mushrooms are in reality are so much more awesome than on the pics.
Your current progresses are also awesome and when I now see how much better the real stuff is in comparison to the pics, I really need to visit you sometimes.
You are a true artist! | |

| Thanks, MoM & Ben! It's good to have a witness or two to the diabolical nature of The Camera. At any rate, I'm glad you liked the pieces & I look forward to seeing them on your gaming boards. AND now all we need is that last package to arrive at Ben's home. | |

| Thanks, Jedfordski...glad you like it. I got the paint racks at Michael's Craft Stores. Next time I go there, I'll see if I can find out the manufacturer. | |

Thanks, IngoisT. I should have mentioned the Observatory is by ArmorCast; it's part of their Steam Punk Range. - floedebolle wrote:

Thanks, Ben...glad you like it. I've got a couple more buildings to add; then ON WITH THE COLOR!

| That's a wonderful little goblin town you're creating. Very nice.
I do have a question; why the double color primer? Sorry if you already answered the same question earlier. This thread is getting impressively big. It would be like searching for aneedle in a haystack. ;-)

| Thanks for the kind reply, BigD! I'm glad you like it. As a deaf Guy, I have to ask people to repeat themselves often enough that I don't mind doing it myself. The dry brushed white over a thin black coat serves a couple of purposes: the black adds depth/darkness to the creases/undercuts while the white brightens the highlights. AND the contrasting colors makes seeing the details easier on my old eyes. I must be getting pretty good at it; re, some Folk take the prime coat as the finished product...grey scale I think is what they call monochromatic. | |

| My Buddy, floedebolle, uses a similar priming method. Browsing through the W.I.P section over on the Reaper Forum, I was surprised how many different colors Folk use for their minis...I'm always looking for new techniques. | |

| I normally do not prime, anything. I have been blackwashing miniatures lately though. It easier when you have bad eyes. | |

That's basically what I do also, but, after the wash dries, I hit it up with a white drybrush. Besides the pluses already listed, I really like the way it looks after the drybush. - SerialMoM wrote:

Marvelous! Thanks for the reply, MoM...glad you like it. I'm rather pleased with the way it's coming along myself. As I figure out what will come next, I'm painting up some minis & doing some fungus stuff...one thing feeds of another.

| Thanks, Vagabond! I think all those movies & stories I loved & watched perhaps too many times have taken over, or it could just be an OVERLY active imagination. AND, it may be getting worse; i.e., I've started to come up with stories for the minis & terrain as I paint them. Who knows where this will lead? | |
