Mordheim App I need some testers for

So, I've no idea how many of you run into this problem, but with all the different rulesets and warbands showing up on the tables these days, how are we to find the rules for each item, weapon, or detail during the game without constantly leafing through thick pdfs or printouts? worse, how are we to choose items and weapons to reinforce our warband when all the items refer to each others effect or the main rulebook but the new edition, than a subparagraph in another addition negates that rule... you know, it's quite a pain every now and then, especially when you have to bother guys playing at another table to ask, and needlessly slow down a fun day of games.

Enter the smartphone/tablet/whatever you use for posing as a hip kid, while checking facebook...

We've been looking for an app that had at least all the items and weapons in one big list. there isn't one.
so today I decided I want to make that. Now, I can do websites and all that, but apps... not so much, so I used an online generator, tweaked it a bit added some stuff i thought neccisary, and have a test version ready.

For now it's on android, which I use, but I think I can configure it to run on iOs as well...
I'm not willing to pay googleplay for a test version to be put on there, so it's a bit tricky to get it to run, but what you should do is:

in the playstore download appsbuilder Demo (free app, little blue icon with a lightbulb which looks like a wrench)
run that app and when it prompts you with the ID code for the app you want to run type in 207219 - there it should all be,

I just want to know if I'm going in the right direction with this... or if I should build a different system on which to view everything you need.

I've only added the items from the Master Equipment list (I believe I got it from mordheimer.com (or Eliazar left it here) so I could easily Copy Paste the content (there's quite a bunch, so it's a lot of work to add in everything... If it does work, I will see about continueing this app.

I only have a free trial period of 29 days left, so if you want to try it, best do so within that period of time.
I know it's not the easiest of methods, but seeing as I'm a rather inexperienced app builder (a fact I seek to remedy) I humbly ask you to bear with me here, and test it for the sake of future gaming!

it behaves like an app in your browser, so that's basically horrible, but you can get an idea of what it does and contains, though the images get mutilated (not that I built in much of that :p)

I took a look at it and I think it's pretty solid. Not flashy, but a great handy reference if you don't want to flip through the rulebook. What would make the app even better would be to include some fashion of the playsheet with all the tables and whatnot. Put that on there and this app becomes much handier. But it's solid so far, a great start for sure!

hehe, yeah, there's the part where I'm not too good at building apps... I might give it a shot though... hang on...

The app thing have crossed my mind before, But as I'm an Iphone guy it complicates things a bit

yeah, apple really doesn't like you getting creative and effecient... not untill they let you, or at least have you pay a stupid sum of money for it... no thank you sir!

Updated the app, with quick reference sheet in it, and some placeholders where there will be more functionality later on. first I have some dinner to prepare!

Been playing with it a little bit and I think it'll be useful when our league starts up again. One thing that might be nice would be some sort of text searching so I can just search for a word like "axe".

Great idea! wish i had an android device to try it out on. maybe a windows version of it in the future! some of us in my group bring laptops to keep all our stuff.

we have a PDF that we "created" that has all editable fields on the roster sheet. lets us save, change, and tally our XP, calculate XP values properly, and update the Warband Rating automatically.

I say created in quotes, because someone else attempted to create such a thing, and failed miserably. half the calculations were wrong, the XP didnt tally , and it was just a mess. So we fixed, upgraded, and made it perfect! if such a PDF would be useful for this project, let me know. ill dig it up and find a way to send it.

Since most people do a lot of home rules, adding options to adjust things like armour value/saves, etc might be nice, but for pure vanilla Mordheim, that is a snazzy app.

You should perhaps think about adding some of the other supplements, too (I guess the Master Equipment List from mordheimer.com has not been updated with all the new stuff (Nemesis Crown, Relics, BTB, Sartosa)).

Also, the mounted rules and cart stuff might be a blast, as this is always a real pain and no one can remember all of it

Apart from that, of course all the warbands and special rules they have, and an interactive rooster sheet, and perhaps a little laser pointer to determine line of sight Nah, just kidding, this is already quite a handy reference, one thing that might be useful would be magic tables, though. And I am not so sure what possibilities app building offers, but a function to add your own items or house rules to the lists might be nice, too. Like, a "notebook" section where you can jot down your warband's special rules and what else you might forget.

Right, so that whole app buisiness took for ever to mold to my wishes, so I threw that overboard. Now I'm making a website with all the items directly accessable. (found in my signature)
I'm working on the layout and the functionality for search buttons/dropdowns etc. but it will be built along the way.

maybe have a look at it, and let me know what you'd deem easy or handy to have on such a site?

Right now I've (again) added the master item list from mordheimer to the site, and updated some of those Items so you don't have to go around searching everywhere.

the plan is that you can sort on basically everything you want (or which would be usefull - setting, type, name, cost, availability, release, add some if you like...) and of course [ctrl+F] makes you find what ever you're looking for [cmd+F] for those on macs...

Also cool would be the random events stuff and a little box were you can enter the dice roll and it spits out the event.

Well, yes, that's my intent as well, or even have the dice be rolled for you, no more bickering over which one was the decimal die etc... and yes, more content will be added, but first i'd like to set it up well, so that it gets real easy to add content...

I want to add all the random events as well, and all the weather events etc. but that's a thing that will be added later on.

Hehe, yeah. One thing I just noticed - with regards to the fluff text, it might be nicer to have it seperated from the rules by a paragraph, or left out alltogether (if it's just a reference guide).
